Kevin McCarthy Announces Support for Challenge to Electoral College

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced Sunday his support for efforts to challenge the certification by Congress of the electoral college votes on January 6.

McCarthy’s remarks came during a discussion with the Hill, in which he stated a “debate” on the issue is needed.

“I think it’s right that we have the debate,” McCarthy said. “I mean, you see now that senators are going to object, the House is going to object — how else do we have a way to change the election problems?”

Several other members of Congress have previously announced they will object to the certification of the electoral college votes on January 6, including Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), the first Congressman to announce a challenge to the votes.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Steve Daines (R-MT), John Kennedy (R-LA), and Mike Braun (R-IN) joined Hawley on Saturday as they announced in a joint statement with Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) that they would object to the electoral college votes.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning...it smells like victory."

I love it when RINOs get a whiff of that napalm and see the light.

I’ll believe that McCarthy supports the challenges when I see him actually vote to uphold the challenges.

McCarthy is late. It’s too late to say ‘welcome to the party...’. Soon it will be too late for these thoughtless RINOs to get on board. It’ll be one side or the other I’d say today. McCarthy thinks so.

This is the “leadership” jumping off the sidelines to the front to try to lead the parade. He is completely insincere.

McCarthy is only trying to protect his position as Minority Leader; that’s it.

I think McCarthy found out something is in the works and wants to be on the winning side.

Someone should ask Mitch what Fang Fang and her CCP friends have on him.

Mitch should come out and tell his little dark secret and be a free man for once in his life.

As for Mittens, I think he was born a power hungry, greedy jerk, is a power hungry, greedy jerk and will always be a power hungry, greedy jerk.

The Bush League Republicans have realized they can’t just pretend that Joe won fair and square, so they are going to pretend to object, and still certify Joe the winner.

McCarthy might have to sit this one out, having been elected using machines that can access the iNet. This was explained in a video released this morning of CEO of Dominion, Coomer, explaining the iNet connection capability of his voting system. Then Jovan Pulitzer had his IT team connect to an active PAD machine processing the current GA Senate Runoff election.

THAT violated the terms of Federal certification of the machines, and proved the Governor and GA SoS to be perjurers.

I feel so betrayed by our party reps that I am just beyond pissed. You would think McConnell would jump Immediately in front of the parade knowing his majority position is threatened by the overwhelming evidence of Fraud in GA...you would think right? Knowing full well this could be the last time any republican will hold a majority position...right? Betraying traitor bloodsucking money hungry POS!

McCarthy is only trying to protect his position as Minority Leader; that's it.

He should be screaming that the entire election is a fraud, that Trump won in a landslide, and that he is rightfully Speaker of the House. He doesn't have a spine, and prefers to accept the decision of the elites that he be Minority Leader instead. Who can respect him?

Yep. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I will never vote for any current politician. Except maybe Trump.

“... his majority position is threatened by ...”

Why do people assume he wants the majority. Not only is that possible but his behavior has always indicated he doesn’t want gop to be majority

Is it not enough Shakespeare? Not enough chess? Not enough middle school girls politics?
