Colorado Congresswoman-elect Lauren Boebert, alongside 83 other Representatives, have countered an effort by Democratic legislators to disallow politicians from carrying firearms in the Capitol.
...oppose a measure by Democratic California Rep. Jared Huffman to prohibit gun carry throughout Capitol grounds. Huffman garnered support from 19 other House members and said the “current regulations,” which allow concealed firearms for politicians, “create needless risk” in a mid-December letter.
“I refuse to give up my Second Amendment rights,” Boebert said in a press release. “I’m a 5-foot tall, 100-pound mom with four children and will be walking to work and serving in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S.”

For the politicians. Not for us.
While I think politicians should always be subject to the same rules as everyone else, I also think DC’s insane gun control laws need to get destroyed. However, I favor courts (particularly the Supreme Court) crushing DC’s laws since that then sets precedence that nobody else can come along later and recreate them.

I see absolutely no concern for all citizens having their 2nd amendment rights curtailed, just some entitled person who likes that others are forbidden, but objects when they come for her firearms...
This Huffman fella worked for NRDC in his early years. He is a gubamint critter, a environmental zealot.. and now he thinks getting guns out of the hands of politicians in a new age of social media-induced craziness is a good move.. He is Marin County to the max.. if it feeeels good, it must be right.
I say DISARM all members of Congress until they give all US citizens the same rights—constitutional carry and/or national reciprocity. Don’t let them start giving themselves special privileges not allowed of common citizens.

Congressional Democrats have perpetrated a full blown assault on the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the Bill of Rights. They need to chill out. Steve Scalise should invite them to play a friendly game of baseball.
One does not need a sane or rational reason in order to exercise constitutional rights. The existence of the right itself is enough to justify someone’s unhindered exercise of it.

Only 83? And where is the call for all Americans to carry every where, every state, DC and all federal buildings, without a permit, license or any government involvement. If someone is a criminal then lock him up. When he has paid his debt society, give him all his freedoms and rights. None of this background check crap. None of this, “if your politician and you are special you get to carry.” F’n A, politicians are criminals and they get special rights?

So you still think the courts will render a decision in 2A that is favorable to the citizens of the former USA. Ok then.
Only those supporting the 2nd amendment all others thier armed security should be removed as well
I do. They’ve done so in Heller twice, and that was with Ginsburg still on the court. With this current court, I expect Gura and others to make significant progress retaking our gun rights back.
