IT people are usually libs.
I worked in IT. The percentage of paranoid kooks is very high, relative to other professions. Many are libertarians, some are 2nd-Amendment fanatics, some belong to nutty nutritional cults.
When we interviewed potential employees, we tried to people with outstanding technical skills who were still normal people who could work with a team without causing trouble. They were hard to find.
“IT people are usually libs.”
Not where I’ve ever worked. If they were libs they kept their mouths shut.
Oh. Oh. I take great offense to that as an IT person:)
People who incorrectly assume IT people are libs are usually idiots.
As a staunch conservative and IT person for 2+ decades, I can tell you for a fact most I know are conservative or libertarian.
I beg you pardon?
It is a contradiction: “liberal programmer” since programming makes heavy use of logic
IT people are usually libs.
I am an “IT people”, an IBM Mainframe sys prog. And I am hard core conservative. Metal head, too. I would guess that the Libs are the open systems, or distributed platforms people.
“IT people are usually libs.”
Bullshit.

Complete nonsense. More likely to lean libertarian, in my experience.
20+ years in IT at a fortune 100... 2/3s are conservatives and most of my employees are hard core 2nd amendment guys like myself.
I worked as a computer programmer, working is Fortran, Basic, and Assembly Language. Just about every good porgrammer I ever met was very intelligent and conservative.
I’ve known a lot of IT people. Much more conservative on average than the general population.
So, I'm guessing... probably a comment you'd like to take back now?
just my $0.02.
