President Trump issued full pardons to two former Border Patrol agents on Tuesday. A federal prosecutor filed charges in 2007 against the two agents for the shooting of a drug smuggler.
President Trump issued a full pardon to former U.S. Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. “These former Border Patrol Agents have been supported by one hundred members of Congress, including Rep. Louie Gohmert, Rep. Steve King, Rep. Ted Poe, Rep. Paul Gosar, Rep. Brian Babin, as well as the U.S. Border Control Foundation and the Conservative Legal Defense and Education Fund,” the White House said.
The White House added:
Both men served as Border Patrol Agents and put themselves in harm’s way to help secure our southern border with Mexico. On one such occasion in 2005, they stopped an illegal alien trafficking 700 pounds of marijuana. When the illegal alien—who was thought to be armed—resisted arrest, Mr. Ramos shot the suspect, who fled back across the border. For this, Mr. Ramos and Mr. Compean were charged and convicted of assault, using a firearm during a crime of violence, and deprivation of civil rights. After they were sentenced to 11 and 12 years imprisonment, respectively, their case gained widespread attention.
U.S. Representative Brian Babin said, “President Trump made right the grave wrongs committed against Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. As Border Patrol Agents they risked their lives to protect us and secure our southern border before they fell victim to political games.”
Retired U.S. Representative Ted Poe (R-TX) stood beside the two Border Patrol agents throughout their legal battles.
“This case has had a demoralizing effect on the men and women who defend America at our border,” Poe explained. “It sends the wrong message to criminals seeking to do our nation harm.”

IIRC, several times he said that he was “troubled” when something (which happened under his watch) went sour. And then, he did nothing to fix the problem, ever.

Who gave the final OK to try these men? If the dates are accurate, it was Eric Holder, one of the most vile, leftist, anti-white US AGs in modern history. However, he would have had to clear Kanof’s actions with Obama, who really loved the Border Patrol and ICE/Immigration and DHS.
I’ve worked under the overall leadership of every US AG since 1992, and learned that those under Clinton/Obama were, for the most part, politically and/or racially corrupt, including Reno and Holder (US. Vs. LIUNA, WACO, Ruby Ridge, Iranian terrorist cases, etc).
As for my bonafides re my work with DOJ environmental cases/Crime task forces, etc., I have before me a photo from Sept. 15, 2015 wherein I was receiving a”Commendation” award for my pioneering work on environmental cleanup litigation strategies, tactics and research methods, plus winning a few cases basically on my own. It says, “this well-deserved award recognizes your many accomplishments”, signed Asst Att. Gen. JC.
Sometimes you have to be inside the “belly of the beast” in order to see what and who it is eating”. The people I worked with were top-notch, honest, hardworking, decent DOJ officials and staff. The “smell of rot” came from the top of the pyramid, not below it. This applies to Obama/Holder, especially and their “Good Germans” helpers.
That is why is it necessary to “know” who the corrupt “players” are in this CPB case and the whole Obama regime.

Why is it not relevant? Dirty prosecuting attorneys are a big issue in our country right now. Are you not aware of this?

That was a popular RINO strategy back in that era that just about every RINO used to get and stay elected. Sympathize, empathize, and make promises. And when they get in office do nothing the voter wants while doing everything they can to line their pockets and stab the voters in the back.
I really think with Bush the voting public caught on.
