Though the 1983 movie “A Christmas Story” did not make much of an impression when it was initially released, it has since become a perennial holiday favorite with families across the country. We are not only treated to Ralphie’s hilarious quest to obtain a Red Ryder BB gun, but the film also reminds us at least a little, of our own childhood Christmases past.
While most of us are familiar with the cult classic, many may not know the tragic way in which the director of “A Christmas Story,” Bob Clark, died…He was killed by a drunk-driving illegal alien.
On April 4, 2007, as the 65-year-old director was traveling along the Pacific Coast Highway with his son, Ariel Hanrath-Clark, 22, when an SUV veered into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision with Clark’s vehicle. Both father and son died at the scene.
The driver of that SUV was Hector Velazquez-Nava, a previously deported Mexican national living in Los Angeles. He had 0.24 blood-alcohol level—three times the legal limit.
The illegal alien had no driver’s license and had a 2004 conviction for solicitation of a prostitute in Los Angeles. For that conviction, Velazquez-Nava was sentenced to 24 months’ probation and a $1,500 fine.
Because Los Angeles is a ‘sanctuary city,’ that protects criminal aliens from being turned over to ICE for deportation, Velazquez-Nava was simply released back onto the streets to cause more mayhem. In this case, the grisly deaths of yet two more Americans.
On October 16, 2007, Hector Velazquez-Nava was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading no contest on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
It is important that all of us understand the devastating impact that ‘sanctuary' policies are having upon on our nation, and obviously upon those families who have lost loved ones due to the criminal actions of those here illegally. It is equally important to understand that the lawmakers and various public officials who protect criminal aliens, are every bit as culpable for those deaths as are the illegal aliens who get behind the wheel and drive drunk.
As you and yours undoubtedly enjoy at least a few hours of the nostalgic and heartwarming 24-hour marathon of “A Christmas Story,” this year, please take a moment to remember the man who brought you that movie and what remains of his heart-broken family.
That lamp, so Italian since it is fra-gee-lay.
I love that movie - thanks for the reminder. Two more Americans killed by illegal invaders. Jean Shepard was a great writer, and does a cameo in the film.
There needs to be a national registry of all criminal activity, deaths, diseases, disabilities, and dismemberment caused by illegal aliens AND the judges, DA’s, city officials ,defense attorneys, and prosecuters who let them back into society. For obvious reasons.
I am sure Illegals have killed more Americans than COVD-19 ...
Most states have a protection clause in the constitutions that shields government officers from being sued for legal actions while in office.........
Nowadays a nerf gun triggers our blue moon bats. I think I got mine when I was in third grade. Our little neighborhood hunting party would head into the woods to get chipmonk pelts armed with semi auto 22 , bolt action 22, 22/410 over and under and a pellet gun. No big deal. None of that crew ever committed a crime and are all still alive.
Jean Shepard was a great writer, and does a cameo in the film?
WHICH CHARACTER?............
Another good movie of Bob Clark's is "Murder by Decree" which pitted Sherlock Holmes (Christopher Plummer) against Jack the Ripper. The basic plot of that movie was re-used in a Johnny Depp movie called "From Hell".
The last figures I saw, illegals kill 25 people per day in the US.
If the people they kill have a hint of the Wuhan in them it will be counted as a Wuhan.
Jean Shepard's cameo.
The film is based on the semi-autobiographical short stories by Jean Shepherd, who has a cameo in the film. In the scene where Ralphie and his brother Randy go to see Santa, Shepherd plays the man who brusquely informs them that the line to sit on Santa’s lap begins about two miles back.
That reminds me to get the DVD before it is banned by the snowflakes because it encourages guns.
Thanks! I would never have guessed he looked like that!.............
“The line to see Santa Claus stretched all the way to Terre Haute. And I was at the end of it.”
Good thing I got mine years ago.
It’s one of only two films I own on DVD (the other is The Princess Bride).
Aren't illegal alien caused deaths of U.S. citizens classified as Wuhan Flu deaths?
