Bank of America estimated Monday that fraud in California’s unemployment benefits system could total $2 billion, and said it has identified 640,000 accounts with suspicious activity that should be investigated to determine whether they are bogus and should be shut down.

The bank, which has contracted with the state Employment Development Department to issue debit cards containing unemployment benefits, issued the warning in a letter to state legislators. It represents the highest estimate of fraud yet in a system that has paid $110 billion since the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a wave of joblessness in California beginning in March.

Unionized teachers who don’t teach lead to students who won’t study and workers who won’t work.

After that it’s easy for urban rats to proceed to immorality and fraud of all types, including rigging contracts and of course elections too.

Only $2 billion?
Just put that $2 billion on the working and investing taxpayers’ tab. They won’t mind. And if they do, screw them. That’s the Uniparty way that gets elected every time.

$2B is it? CA has issued out $110B, so that’s less than 2% being fraudulent.

Given the bonus helicopter money, I guarantee there was way more people refusing to return to work to get that extra cash. If employers would actually report these people who turned down returning to work, You could claw back several times that measly $2B!

Just $2 billion?

They are lucky.

Here in Washington state, unemployment fraud disappeared $570 million.

Per capita, that would be roughly $3 billion in California.

Washington state Democrats are so upset about this fraud they promptly reelected our three term Governor and our three term Attorney General.

In a rare break with journalistic tradition, our local news media recently reported that key state agencies and bureaucrats have not been fully cooperating with the State Auditor.

Strongly worded reprimands are expected any day now!
