A federal appeals court on Saturday rejected a bid by a conservative lawyer to block President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in Georgia and left in place procedures that will make it easier for voters to cast absentee ballots in January when two Senate seats are up for grabs.
U.S. District Judge Steven Grimberg, who was nominated by Trump, rejected attorney L. Lin Wood’s arguments and found in a Nov. 20 opinion that the lawyer had no standing to sue.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Atlanta agreed with the lower court, saying Wood had failed “to allege a particularized injury” and the request was moot anyway since Georgia had already certified the election.
“We may not entertain post-election contests about garden-variety issues of vote counting and misconduct that may properly be filed in state courts,” the appeals court said in its ruling.
The ruling also means Georgia officials will be required to notify absentee voters so they can fix problems with their ballot in the upcoming U.S. Senate election.
On Jan. 5, Georgia holds a run-off election for its two U.S. Senate seats, which will determine whether Republicans or Democrats control the chamber.
Wood was seeking to overturn a lower court judge who refused to block Georgia officials from certifying the state’s election for Biden.

that blows.
Sample Trump address:
Today is a sad day in American history in a difficult year for our country. We are presently dealing with a world pandemic, we are still under a cloud of social unrest, and now have seen our most sacred right the right to vote in a fair and honest election violated.
And so today I am announcing the implementation of the Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order Act. There will be a re-vote within the next 90 days to ensure our country is one of the people a by the people and not by those who can obtain power through lawless means. Under this act the national guard will be mobilized to ensure safety in our streets and the rule of law is maintained in the voting center.
Re votes will take place in those states with overwhelming evidence of blatant voter fraud such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania. This will be a one day in person event. Out of state citizens will be afforded the opportunity to vote absentee. All voters will supply some form of citizenship. No mail in ballots will be allowed.
Once the votes are tallied and the will of the people is restored this act will be immediately terminated.
Please understand we are a country of laws if those rules fail us we will forever be held bound by public disorder in our government and in our streets.
Thank you,
Gobbledygook to kick it on to SCOTUS.
Lin Wood donated money to Obama and David Perdue’s former opponent, Michelle Nunn and by his actions, he’s continuing to support Georgia Democrats here.
I can’t picture any court, lower than SCOTUS, ruling to do what needs to be done.
Ok the big reason is Lin Wood does not have standing.
Well, if Lin Wood lacks standing, how is Sidney Powell’s separate lawsuit going to have standing?
It is not a ‘win’. It is a steal.
Trump gave to Hillary etc repeatedly in the past as well.
Have you seen Wood’s donation totals, especially recently?
He gave $375K to Trump, for example.
Yeah we keep hearing about all these supposedly GREAT judges that Mitch McConnell got through, yet every single time they seem to rule against us?
Who nominated them?
And I’m sure he’s cleaning up nicely right now. He and Powell both.
“And so today I am announcing the implementation of the Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order Act.”
If it is an “Act,” Congress would have to approve and if passed and signed into law, it is possible that someone may file a suit challenging the Act.
Republicans need to earn our votes. If they don’t, and continue to do what they want instead, and assume we’ll stay on the plantation forever, nature will take its course.
Have you seen Wood’s donation totals, especially recently?
He gave $375K to Trump, for example.

If that amount is correct, it exceeds the amount an individual can give to a candidate.
This is how the courts will screw us folks.
And they are winning.
Nope. Nobody. At first I looked at the headline expecting the "Babylon Bee" somewhere.
I just read that this lying punk GA Sec of State was the overseer of to who and where all mail in ballots went. He needs to be detained and the vote he certified should be invalid. The Governor needs to be detained too.
$375k to a Trump PAC.
