I have buried dead animals. I buried then a foot in the ground as the were small animals. They did not rise to the top of the ground.

I suspect this article is amusing bull S—t or even worse total incompetence of those that buried the minks.

Perhaps a large number were buried too close to the surface, not like putting your pet cat in a grave.
