This is a state court, why would it go to the SCOTUS? They might try a federal court, but I doubt they would take it up.

On December 8, 2000, the Florida Supreme Court ordered the statewide counting of undervotes. Bush’s legal team went straight to the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is a state court, why would it go to the SCOTUS? They might try a federal court, but I doubt they would take it up. Because it is a constitutional issue, which makes it a Federal issue, which means it lands in Federal Court if Team Trump asks for it, and they will.
It can also be pushed to a Federal Court because the litigants reside in different states.
