Singer John Legend said on Thursday that donating to Democratic candidates hoping to flip the U.S. Senate is more important than giving to the needy.
"The bottom line is that the Senate flipping would be far more impactful than a food bank donation," Legend tweeted in reply to liberal billionaire Mark Cuban. "We need massive stimulus and aid to individuals and small businesses. Government needs to do this. Charity isn’t sufficient."
Democrats are looking to funnel a massive amount of money from deep-pocketed, out-of-state donors into the runoff races in Georgia as part of a last-gasp bid to flip the Senate. Last quarter, both Raphael Warnock (D.) and Jon Ossoff (D.) raised over $21 million each, most of it from out-of-state groups.
Legend endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) for president earlier this year and campaigned with her during the South Carolina Democratic primary. He also headlined a three-day Democratic retreat last year.

John Legend (née Stephens) will never be a legend of anything. If he weren’t some stupid leftist, I’m confident that I would not have ever heard of him.

I just sent my local food bank a letter, quoting Mr. Legend and explaining that, instead of writing them a check for $100, I would be making a donation to the DNC in their name.
I included a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that they could thank me for it.

Giving to dems is giving to trash who won’t support themselves and who are the backbone of the Democrat party
John Legend is a piece of crap. I really should cut him and his wife some slack because the newborn child they had a couple of months ago died shortly after birth. That being said it is sad that celebrities would rather give to Democrats rather than to charity. Shame on them.
