The media lies and hypes *every* damn story, including this. Yes, a colony has the potential of hundreds of queens, but only a few survive until Spring. of the few queens that hatch, then kill each other until one survives.

Hmmm 5% of 200 is 10. Left to themselves this would mean a 10x increase in the number of colonies every year. 1 this year=10 next, 100 the next, 1000 the year following, 100,000 in 5 years, a cool million in 6 years, in 9 years the number of colonies would outnumber people in the US of A.
