More like 'illegal'

But...HOW do we get them to talk, to admit what they did? Anyone who might talk may be afraid (for themselves or their families) of being 'silenced' if they're being suspected of being willing to expose them.

I'm not sure I trust ANY protection service the government has.

It's a good question.

I think what we're seeing is fairly "standard" stuff. These people have done it for years. No one pays much attention. It's low risk.

But this year it's different. The President is pursuing this, the DOJ is pursuing this, The Supreme Court is involved, and the stealing was panicked and extreme and sloppy this year. This is not standard for the vote stealers.

Messy and risky. It's a federal crime. It's a felony. If immunity is offered for whistleblowing, I think some of these people will jump ship. Yes, that's risky too but they've put themselves in a bad situation and they surely realize that.
