TRUMP'S COATTAILS (VANITY)

Discuss Trump's Coattails.

TOPICS: Government; Politics/Elections; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: chat; coattails; congress; elections; presidential; trump; trumplandslide; vanity
I searched for coattails and did not find anything posted. Likewise, I googled coattails and did not find any current discussions. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I am looking at keeping control of the Senate, which is vital to President Trump's magnificent campaign to fix the Federal Judiciary and to restrain excesses of the House. Assuming President Trump is headed to re-election, my take on it is that the enthusiasm that will propel him to victory will translate into some down-ballot shockers, including possibly flipping the House and solidifying the Senate. Thoughts?

Yes, that is precisely what “political coattails” means.

No. There is a legitimate conversation regarding the strength of political coattails and even whether there will be any coattail effect at all. Some presidents have dragged along a lot of other candidates along and some, not so much.

I predict the GOP will retake the house and keep the senate. Just as there are are silent Trump Voters, they will also vote R all the way. The problem for the pollsters is the silent trump voters is they are newly registered voters so there is no history, thus, election day will be good.

Sadly history shows that often the President will end up without a congressional majority anywhere in his second term,.

With any luck some of those red districts in SoCal that unexpectedly went blue will turn red again.

Anything to screw with Newsom.

In the Senate, I think Trump helps James in Michigan, McSally in Arizona, and Tillis in North Carolina. Going way out on a limb, Trump brings Jason Lewis to the Senate in Minnesota.

Don’t forget Tuberville in Alabama—no coat-tails needed!!!

I don’t like the stupid football coach Tuberville, but if he helps the Republicans keep the Senate, that’s very good!!!

I also don’t like Susan Collins of Maine, but if she happens to pull off a win, that also helps!!!!

Trump (and McConnell) will have a tough job managing these two, however.

Happily, this Presidency hasn’t been like any other I can think of. I guess we’ll see.

It also means there could be more straight ticket voting if the top candidate is strong. In this case everybody with an “R” after their name benefits.

We’ve seen plenty of exceptions to history occurring of late.

I think Collins is toast. No real loss! Same for Linda Graham. Hoping to pick up Tuberville and John James and break even. Not like the Senate does anything any ways outside of judges and acting like a firewall for democrap stupidity.

Go back and re-read the Constitution, Article I. It takes both houses of Congress to pass legislation! And the Senate is important for treaties, etc. as well as confirming judges. Moreover the Senate quashed the impeachment of President Trump by Pelosi and gang, just recently!

We need the Senate, and even Lindsay Graham and perhaps even the traitor Collins! The Dims are planning to use the Senate to pack the Court, and they’re planning to abolish the filibuster, too! Lord have Mercy!!!!

If you want traitors, vote democrap! These people are corrupt and worthless. By them loosing and James and Tuberville winning, the count stays the same! Graham is covering up the 2016 election, because he and McCain were in on it! Who needs scum like that?
