My Resignation From The Intercept (Glenn Greenwald resigns over Pro-Biden censorship)
Greenwald's Substack ^ | October 29, 2020 | Glenn Greenwald

Posted on 10/29/2020 11:11:51 AM PDT by Stravinsky

Today I sent my intention to resign from The Intercept, the news outlet I co-founded in 2013 with Jeremy Scahill and Laura Poitras, as well as from its parent company First Look Media.

The final, precipitating cause is that The Intercept’s editors, in violation of my contractual right of editorial freedom, censored an article I wrote this week, refusing to publish it unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression.

The censored article, based on recently revealed emails and witness testimony, raised critical questions about Biden’s conduct. Not content to simply prevent publication of this article at the media outlet I co-founded, these Intercept editors also demanded that I refrain from exercising a separate contractual right to publish this article with any other publication.

I had no objection to their disagreement with my views of what this Biden evidence shows: as a last-ditch attempt to avoid being censored, I encouraged them to air their disagreements with me by writing their own articles that critique my perspectives and letting readers decide who is right, the way any confident and healthy media outlet would. But modern media outlets do not air dissent; they quash it. So censorship of my article, rather than engagement with it, was the path these Biden-supporting editors chose.

The censored article will be published on this page shortly.

He let liberals infest his paper. Guess he’ll need to start a new one.

There are a few intellectually honest liberals - Greenwald is one of them. He’s being censored and forced out of his own magazine by the horde of dishonest liberals.

A man of principle and a real journalist! He looked hyper on Trucker for two interviews and this probably explains it. I wish him luck.

Glen Greenwald is a rarity - an honest Leftist with integrity.

Leftist policies should rise or fall on their merits without media interference.

Exactly. Bet he tried to be “fair” and “balanced”. Fools touts “compromise” but we can never compromise with evil.

This happens to be written to Christians but i think the principle of being equally yoked stands even in the secular world.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

Greenwald has been PNG on the institional left since the 2016 election. He’s been pretty consistent on Trump-Russia conspiracy and the left hates him for it.

Facebook and Twitter's Intervention Highlights Dangerous New Double Standard There are a few intellectually honest liberals - Greenwald is one of them.

There are a few. Very few. Matt Taibbi is one I can think of who has been writing various essays about the Hunter Biden scandal story suppression being the real scandal.

All of this recent stuff sounds great and everything but it's extremely late in the game as more than half of voters have already voted. Today, Biden's lead has increased to 7.7 points. On this same day in 2016, Hilarious's lead dropped to 4.6 points. In 2016, at this late stage, Hillary's poll lead shrank on a daily basis. This year, Biden's lead is increasing on a daily basis at this same late stage. I'm referring to the RCP general poll average.

But early this month, many people on this forum fully assured me, no worries, that once we enter the final week before the election, the libtard pollsters will gradually and smoothly squeeze Biden's RCP poll lead down to just 2 or 3 points by election day (to make the polling firms seem at least somewhat credible), just like they did in 2016 with Hilarious.

I don't see any of that happening; I see the exact opposite phenomenon. Can the experts explain?

Yup. Greenwald, Matt Taibbi. There are a handful of Lefty journos still willing to stand-up for principle.

I wish Mr. Greenwald Godspeed.

I don’t agree with him on most things, but when he’s on Tucker’s show, he is fearless in telling the truth.
