“...offers a glimmer of hope that the paper might realize they’ve been scooped on a big story...”

My take on this is that big media is finally starting to feel some pressure to cover this, which is significant, because they would rather not cover it at all. Tucker and others need to keep pushing and push even harder if possible.

This isn’t proof that he partnered with Hunter or profited in any way, but it seems like evidence that he wasn’t particularly worried about keeping his son’s sketchy salesmanship at arm’s length.

Of course the Tony Bobulinski interview and the documents and audio that he offers in support of its contentions are proof.

The author confuses conclusive proof, proof beyond a reasonable doubt, proof by the preponderance of evidence with proof in general. There are several levels of "proof." By whatever standard of proof an apologist such as the author insists as his definition, there is more than mere conjecture that Joe Biden profited from his son's dealings, we have an email describing the cut that Joe Biden was personally to receive, to wit: 10%.

This is more than "interesting", this is proof that in this one deal out of many deals over several continents for several years Joe Biden was getting his vig. What about the rest of those deals?

As an offhand thought and by no means in support of the disreputable New York Times, perhaps this opinion piece was allowed onto the pages of the paper as the beginning of a CYA when the lid is inevitably blown off these crimes, providing Biden is not elected.

The story is a bucket of self-serving swill. It is a failed effort at justifying a worthless and dead MSM.

Compare the evidence of this to the evidence of the Blaise Ford’s allegations against Kavanaugh. Ford had no witnesses, and Ford’s supposed witness said she never met Kavanaugh and was not at the party, she could not state a year or date, and Ford had no location, Goggled Ford and New York Times, you had 5 stories and none appeared to question Ford’s veracity or the substance of her aligations.

“something that belongs in the pages of a newspaper, because it’s interesting news.”

Never mind it’s the greatest political scandal of our lifetime, dwarfs Watergate and Lewinsky. It’s just interesting, so they might as well mention it.

"Imagine what our nation would be without it."

I remember only too well: all we had during Vietnam and the Nixon travails were ABC, NBC and CBS and the damn newspapers. The media was only one side, all Leftist, all the time.

That's why Saigon is called "Ho Chi Minh City" today and Nixon is remembered as a "crook".

The word ‘drivel’ was invented to apply to crap like this.

In the end, there is one good thing about this article.... the NYT is now officially on record as acknowledging there is a massive and verified story out there that they are deliberately choosing to either ignore, trivialize and obfuscate about.

Douthat clearly got spanked. His tone is much more submissive this time.

Also, observe the pseudonym, probably one assigned to him:

“Doubt That.”

We need to remember that his started because of a lap top hard drive. The story was , “ the whole Hunter Biden lap top was a plant and a Russian disinformation program”. Leslie Stahl said it could be verified. 20 intelligence analyst said it was part of a Russian disinformation plot. The NewYork Times said the WashingtonPost staff didn’t want to do the story. Well Bobulinski comes along and verifies at least part of the hard drive and has recorded conversations with Biden family friends that seem to verify the knew that what was going on was crooked. So it seems the Hard drive with Hunter e-mailing 10% for the big guy may well be authentic!

Everybody knew the hard drive was authentic from the start.

- Hunter Biden signed for it.

- Hunter Biden’s lawyer called and emailed asking for it back.

- It has a bunch of photos and videos of Hunter Biden on it.

- Parts of the email chain have been verified by multiple others who received those emails. One guy verified the emails were sent by hunter and even turned over his own gmail account showing it.

- Bobulinski said the emails came from Hunter and turned over 3 of his smart phones that prove it.

- dates and locations have been verified to match dates and locations for Hunter and Joe.

- Guliani says there are some non public things on the laptop he has learned after investigating Hunter and the Bidens the last few years that only Hunter would have known.

Its not even close. This is verified beyond a reasonable doubt. Notice that nobody from the Biden camp has claimed it is not Hunter’s laptop?

The MSM is as usual, lying when they say it hasn’t been verified. An even more egregious lie is that its some kind of Russian disinformation. How would they know? They’re not in possession of it...nevermind all the other evidence.

I believe the FBI was holding onto this evidence as the tool to get Biden to step down if he won the election. But since it got out early, the Biden campaign has developed a strategy to defend it. Still, if Biden wins somehow, the media will gain a renewed interest in this story, and will push Biden out in favor of Harris.

That looks like the plan to me.
