My suburban mother in law voted for the first Republican in her life in 2016—Trump—based on the immigration issue.
Lots of her other positions are still leftist, like abortion and high taxes, but she hates illegal immigration and that year that was her #1 issue.
She’s voting for Trump again.
When you consider that its more like 25 million than 11 million, and that new citizens can import family, its more like 50 million.
I would think that blacks would notice the imported competition, and vote against it in their own interest. Or might, if someone would prominently make the point.
