Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed that he "never said I oppose fracking" when pressed by President Donald Trump on the issue during Thursday night's presidential debate.
"You said it on tape," Trump replied.
Facts First: It's false that Biden never said he opposed fracking. In two Democratic primary debates, Biden made confusing remarks over fracking that his campaign had to clarify. In 2019, Biden said "we would make sure it's eliminated" when asked about the future of coal and fracking; in 2020 he said he opposed "new fracking." Biden's written plan, conversely, never included a full ban on fracking or even on new fracking. Rather, it proposes "banning new oil and gas permitting on public lands and waters" -- not ending all new fracking anywhere or ending all existing fracking on public lands and waters.
Biden created confusion about his stance with some of his comments during the Democratic primary. For example, he had this exchange with CNN's Dana Bash during a July 2019 debate:
Bash: "Thank you, Mr. Vice President. Just to clarify, would there be any place for fossil fuels, including coal and fracking, in a Biden administration?"
Biden: "No, we would -- we would work it out. We would make sure it's eliminated and no more subsidies for either one of those, either -- any fossil fuel."

They call themselves journalists at CNN. A real journalist, or at least one that can write, doesn't torture people with double negatives. I am certain it is intentional so their low-IQ readers are at a minimum confused or think that Biden spoke the truth last night.
Now watch, this is the way it should have been written: "It is a fact that Biden said he opposed fracking." Isn't that much easier to read and comprehend?

Massive miscalculation by Biden to double down on that. “Transitioning” away from oil was the icing on the cake.
It must be tough to remember his positions in his current mental state considering that he such a compulsive liar. One of my favorite Biden lies was when he claimed to have written some legislation that Amy Klobuchar had authored and she called him out on it because she was standing on the stage with him.
Some lies are so egregious they cannot be ignored.
Transitioning out, is out.
Hardly matters if it’s supposed to be done overnight or over several years.
Biden has stubbornly refused to be candid with answers, much like the court packing thing. That eventually becomes obvious to the “undecided voter”.
Biden’s got his hard core base, but the leaning left crowd is very likely to not vote. He’s so boring that nobody will attend his campaign events! My kids fell asleep watching the debate, so if Biden is hoping to energize some sort of Anti-Trump movement, it’s really not working.
He really doesn’t remember.

Joe is so old, he remembers when the big networks and newspapers could cover up any Dem lie....that ended when Drudge broke the Lewinsky scandal, which the entire media was aware of, but hoped to squash....the media still lies shamelessly....but Democrat politicians are more careful these days about telling outright lies that Conservative media can dispute.....but not Joe...LOL, he’s too old school

Biden will never lose CNN. This is a lame attempt to project impartiality on the part of the “news” network.
We don’t need the MSM to tell us he lied. They are stuck because their candidate is a lying senile crook and they had to soften the blow because they couldn’t hide this one. Trump already has a TV ad running with Joe telling everyone how he would end fracking and end fossil fuels and his big lie last night.
He told a thousand lies last night. Every word he spoke was a lie. This one was just so obvious CNN had to do something to cushion the blow.
Biden and CNN have one thing in common. They lie about everything.
