The Desire for Power/Control/Money is the greatest lure of Satan and his minions. The allure of that which leads into death and destruction is horribly strong unless one wears the full armor of God

Luke 4:5-7 says this : The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours."

It didn't work on Jesus, but most of us aren't even close to being like Jesus...

As CS Lewis put it, we live behind enemy lines. “Thy Kingdom Come” is not an empty prayer, it is a call for deliverance.
