Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., ripped President Trump in a phone call with constituents, saying the commander-in-chief "kisses dictators' butts," "sells out our allies," mistreats women and "spends like a drunken sailor."
“What the heck were any of us thinking that selling a TV-obsessed narcissistic individual to the American people was a good idea? It is not a good idea," Sasse said in a recent telephone town hall with his constituents. "I think we are staring down the barrel of a blue tsunami and we’ve got to hold the Senate and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Sasse's nine-minute diatribe against Trump was first reported by the Washington Examiner, which obtained an audio recording of the town hall. Sasse was responding to a question from a constituent about the senator's relationship with Trump who asked: "Why do you have to criticize him so much?”
Sasse said he's found common ground with Trump on certain things, such as nominating conservative judges to the courts, but then he laid out a long list of faults and said it was important to "level" with Nebraskans.
Trump "mocks evangelicals behind closed doors," mistreats women and "flirted with white supremacists," Sasse said.
Trump mishandled the coronavirus pandemic, botched foreign policy and sought to profit off the presidency, the senator continued.

Some day - and perhaps sooner than later - the Democrats will sweep back into power. But these will not be your grandfather’s Democrats. They will all be radical leftists who will turn this country into a one-party dictatorship.
An honest historian will record that Ben Sasse was one of the useful idiots who let it happen.
Washington DC is a near total ideological bubble. The cult of Fed.gov and leftist ideology is overwhelming there.
It takes huge self-knowledge to resist it and great moral courage to hold views that a scorned by society there, and few self-proclaimed conservative politicians have that. So most break ranks, like prisoners in an ideological concentration camp.
This is unfortunate...while this won’t cause Trump to lose Nebraska at large, it could effect the one Congressional district that is more evenly split than the state as a whole, and Nebraska distributes its electors by congressional district rather than winner take all.

Back into power? How can anyone look at the “Trump” DOJ and not see that the Democrats are in power right now?
What has happened to Ben Sasse's mind? ... to his honor and integrity? ... to his patriotism? How dreadfully dishonorable has Ben Sasse become as a result of his advanced case of TDS.

Sasse is a confidence trickster. Many politicians assume a political persona to get elected. Often in the GOP they pose as conservative to win a primary. Then they tack to the middle once elected assuming the GOP base will stay with them. What we see today is the real Sasse. Republicans hate Trump for spoiling their agenda but most of all they hates those of us who elected Trump.

This stupid narcissistic opportunist kid senator is a creep. Fortunately his entreaties to vote against Trump will fall on deaf ears in one of the most Republican states in the nation. Unfortunately, he was not primaried. Maybe, next time, I hope.

Yeah, right, Sasse. Trump giving up his life to “profiteer from the presidency” is like Hugh Hefner taking on a Nebraska senate seat just so he could “meet hot chicks”.
I don’t like Ben Sasse’s anti-Trumpism any more than the next guy, but one has to keep in mind that the bottom line is, he supports the president when it’s needed. As a Nebraskan, I prefer that he be somewhat less whiny Trump than he is, but because he’s on this side when it counts, he deserves the support of all Republicans and conservatives, pro- or anti-Trump alike.
