The Trump administration announced an agreement on Friday with CVS and Walgreens to distribute coronavirus vaccines to seniors and staff in long-term care facilities for free.
Why it matters: The move could help the president move up in the polls with elderly voters. Seniors, who have been significantly impacted by the virus, helped Trump get elected in 2016, but recent polls have indicated that the group swung sharply against him and toward Joe Biden.
Earlier this week, Axios reported that the Trump campaign launched a multimillion-dollar ad campaign focused in part on recovering the president's standing with seniors.
What they're saying: "Protecting especially vulnerable Americans" is a priority for the Trump administration's COVID-19 response, said Department of Health and Human Services secretary Alex Azar.
"[T]hat commitment will continue through distributing a safe and effective vaccine earliest to those who need it most."
Details: CVS and Walgreens will schedule and coordinate on-site clinic dates with care facilities. Both companies believe that three visits over two months will likely be needed to administer the necessary doses of the vaccine to residents and staff.

How soon for the parade of antivaxxers peddling the nonsense that are talking points that they do not understand. My personal favorite tonight is that this vaccine hasn’t been tested (untrue). And if that fails, we can always go with Bill Gates is trying to rewrite the DNA of humanity.
I imagine anyone in a nursing home would qualify. The article mentions that the vaccine will be given to people in care facilities.

I believe Cuomo is having difficulty with how the vaccine will be distributed. I’m certain that it is NOT part of his job description and that he as “0” say.

Democrats will also soon be producing ads accusing Trump of trying to kill seniors with untested and unreliable vaccines. It’ll be this year’s version of ‘pushing grandma down a cliff’ commercial.

Over three months is the same as booster shots we all received for various immunizations as kids. Builds up a level of immunity, hopefully.
Vaccines of this type are usually only about 50% effective at best and are not a cure. But, I want to see as much of it put out there as possible as soon as possible. Maybe it will begin to wash away the stupidity and irrational panic that has swept up so many in this country.
Exactly - I have no intention of getting the vaccine but making it easily available may allow the irrational fear to subside and life get back to normal.

And which ones of that type are only 50% effective?
Will safety and efficacy be tested in seniors first?
For Cuomo, this was never about public health.
