Sen. Warren slams Disney for layoffs, executives' salaries

(Reuters) - U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren slammed Walt Disney Co's move to lay off 28,000 workers while making shareholder payouts in the years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic, demanding more information from company executives on the measures.

Warren, a progressive former U.S. presidential candidate, blasted the entertainment company for the layoffs that came as Disney reportedly restored pay for some executives who had taken cuts due to the pandemic, according to a letter the Massachusetts senator sent to Disney on Tuesday and seen by Reuters.

Warren described Disney's decision to pay dividends and buy back stock before the pandemic as "short-sighted," because it reduced the capital the company could have used to weather the downturn.

Fauxahontas shows what economic policy would look like under a Quid Pro Joe administration. Social responsibility will override profits. Of course the irony is that a leftist loon is criticizing a leftist loon company.

Politicians (mostly DEMs) want to shut the country down because of COVID-19, then act surprised when companies lay off people and try to control costs. DC swamp rats are truly disconnected with everyday life in America, whether individuals or corporations.

A mid level executive who manages his department can increase profits by a significant factor.

This is not true of the average front line worker. A good mid level manager is what the military would deem “a force multiplier.”

If you are looking to lay off people from an organization you need to figure out who is the multiplier and who is the chaff. I know it sounds “cold” to call workers “chaff,” but when you are facing bankruptcy a good manager HAS to make these tough calls.

Officers in these organizations have a fiduciary (legal) responsibility to maximize shareholder value. This is something that Warren should be well aware.

Warren described Disney's decision to pay dividends and buy back stock before the pandemic as "short-sighted," because it reduced the capital the company could have used to weather the downturn.

Now I know from whom to seek expert business advice. Not. Warren is a low-IQ, uneducated dolt with no experience in the business world. She has been a taker all of her life, and she is so bad at that she has to lie about her ethnicity to get do-nothing employment.

She’s now giving business advice to a pretty darn successful company?

She truly is a Jack-of-all-trades.

Manic dumbass. Disney executives could waive their salaries entirely, but if the doors to Disneyland remain locked per Newsom’s dictates, there’s no money coming in to pay the employees.

Dear Senator Warren, this is so Mickey Mouse of you and a bit Goofy to bring up. You appear to be trying to make Disney out to be Scrooge McDuck. You may think you are Cinderella but in this case you are Pinocchio. Please return to your normal Sleepy state and stop being Dopey.
