Somebody interviewed about secession possibilities a few weeks ago quipped: “If California really does secede I doubt all over America people will say No, No, don’t do it. Come back, California. Come back.”

If California secedes from the Union, then a large part of the state will secede from California, calling it the state of “Jefferson”.
(That’s how West Virginia was created).

They will be returned as territories, cleansed of illegals, and under control of appointed territorial governors an the US Army. Only handfuls of people will need to be interned and fewer hanged.
