The British defense committee reported on Oct. 8 that there’s “clear evidence of collusion between Huawei and the Chinese state” and urged the government to urgently remove Huawei’s equipment from the country’s telecommunications infrastructure by 2025.
In July, Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered that Huawei be purged from Britain’s 5G networks by 2027 amid fears of spying and sabotage, and following tough U.S. sanctions against the company affecting its supply of up-to-date chips.
The defense committee report, however, states that the purging should be done years earlier even if it involves recompense for current operators.
“The Government should take necessary steps to minimize the delay and economic damage and consider providing compensation to operators if the 2027 deadline is moved forward,” it states.
The defense committee report also states that the 5G rollout will increase mobile connectivity dependence, leaving the country more vulnerable to “espionage, sabotage, or system failure” but as yet with “no global rules regulating international cyber-attacks.”
The report urges the government to partner with allies on a system to hold “perpetrators” accountable.
Democracies should also form a “D10” alliance of top world democracies as a counter to China and other nondemocratic countries with malign intent, it stated.
“The Committee support the proposal to form a D10 alliance, consisting of ten of the world’s largest democracies, in order to provide alternatives to Chinese technology and to combat the technological dominance of authoritarian states.”
“The Government must act swiftly and outline a joint 5G policy as soon as possible,” the report stated, and “continue to denounce and deter threats from adversarial states, such as Russia and China.”

To be clear, we are not a “democracy.” We are not a “mob rule” country. We are a republic, a nation with laws.
Many nations will be eager buyers.
Yes, on the other hand, the New York Times Reports that:
“... a cursory search of tax records shows that the Chinese Progressive Association in San Francisco, which has teamed up with the Black Futures Lab, is an entirely different nonprofit from the Chinese Progressive Association in Boston, which sponsored events with the Chinese consulate.”

On the other hand, the author of the article whose link you just posted insists that:
“... both organizations named Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) “are controlled by Liberation Road,” Loudon said. “Both of them are controlled by Maoist communists who have been a part of the same groups for 50 years now. They might be organizationally autonomous, but they are part of the same movement.”
The CPA in Boston has very close ties and officially works for the Chinese Consulate in New York, Loudon said, but the Chinese Progressive Association in San Francisco is also very closely tied to the Chinese consulate there. They are “both front groups for the same communist organization” even though they are governed by separate boards, he added.
WHO TO BELIEVE? The New York Times, or this particular author?

Chinese State-Controlled company Nuctech is the biggest threat to the global Security Screening market as Huawei is a threat in 5G market..... This threat to the Global Market can be understood by an analogy that an enemy Terrorist is kept as a guard to your strategic assets because the Terrorist offered his services at cheap prices.
China's 'Debt Trap Diplomacy' on weaker nations is certainly giving China literally 'ground'.
Of course they are connected. People are such infants thinking there is even a chance they aren’t. Of bloody damn course they are.
I think too many Americans don’t recognize the Communist Chinese for what they are.

Can't disagree..... most don't realize the stronghold they have in Hollywood nor among certain politicians here, let alone throughout our various Institutions and Industries right here in the USA. And China makes certain that doesn't get heard by their armies of trolls on social media and in the news organizations
BTW....really took note of your tag. Was just thinking last night our yong people today have too much unproductive time on their hands. I don’t underestimate them, either. There is a creepy degree of engagement in the technological process of monitoring their citizenry and hammering any nail heads protruding above the others.
I think having Soviet Block East Germans with today’s technology would be frightening, but the the Chinese are closing the monitoring creepiness gap with technology, persistence, and sheer numbers.
Whatever. The important element is that the government’s are ultimately accountable to their citizens via elections. However you want to call it, however, we usually call these types of countries ‘democracies’.
