A government watchdog recently tried to post a bold message on giant billboards during he NBA finals about LeBron James’ refusal to speak out against Chinese human-rights abuses, but was rejected by the sign company.

Privately owned company totally within their rights to decide what goes on their boards. If I owned a billboard company and someone wanted me to display a board critical of police I’d tell them to go pound sand.
Add a gay couple getting married to it, they’ll have to put it up.
I like the message the watchdog company tried to post.
But the free speech amendment (the 1A) only protects you against government censorship. It doesn’t protect you against private party censorship.
So this is more of a property rights thing. The billboard company can reject any message it wishes. And I would reluctantly support them on that.
But if they put up the ad, those Antifa thugs will destroy the whole structure.

Slavery is only bad to James and his ilk if it was black folks in America.
Outfront Media is within their rights to refuse it. However, get another billboard company!
“We are not a publisher, so we are not responsible for the content”.
“We disagree with your point of view, so we are using our publisher’s discretion to disallow your billboard.”
One or the other friend, one or the other.
