XFL Returns in 2022, The Rock Shares Kick Off Video

The XFL is making an unexpected comeback thanks to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The football league attempted a re-launch this year, and it didn't go all that well. The wrestler-turned-actor, who also happens to be a former football player, stepped in to help purchase the league alongside his business partner Dany Garcia and Red Bird Capital. Now, Johnson has revealed that the XFL will return in 2022.

Dwayne Johnson made the announcement on Twitter. He released a video along with the announcement, hyping up their plans for the league, which will be skipping 2021. They don't want to rush things, which seems wise since the XFL has failed twice already. Perhaps the third time's the charm. Johnson had this to say in his post.

"XFL returns Spring 2022. As owners, we're proud to champion our XFL players, coaches, cities and fans into an electrifying 2022 season! It's an uphill battle, but we're hungry, humble and no one will outwork us. A league of culture, passion & purpose."

There is no word yet on how many teams will be part of the 2022 XFL season, nor is it clear how many games will be played. The 2020 season had been scheduled for ten games but only half of them were played. It was cut short over public health and safety concerns. The organization announced bankruptcy in April, which paved the way for the sale.

That'd be great, except that Dwayne, "The Pebble" Johnson alienated half his potential audience by endorsing Biden.

That is an automatic no-go at this station. He will lose millions on this. He has no avenue for forgiveness.

I was looking forward to watching XFL until he endorsed Biden. Now I hope the league enlarges his anal cavity.

Sorry, Pebbles, but we’re not interested. Maybe you can play in China. Does XFL stand for Xi Football League?

Yep. I actually thought Johnson was smarter than that.

What did they teach this guy at Miami?

Dummy, the XFL was viable because Trump supporters were turned off by the antics of the NFL. Now you’ve insulted your target market.

Like Martin Sheen another hollywood actor confuses his show (Ballers) with real life.

If the WWE guy is still running it, and no one is allowed to disrespect the flag or anthem, then I won’t mind if the rockhead is involved. There have always been people of opposing political viewpoints involved in sports. What I can’t abide is using your sport as a platform for revolutionary overthrow of the country and destruction of its history and culture.

I assume calling him “Pebbles” is referring to his testicles as a result of too many years of steroids?

Really liked the guy.

Can’t he just keep his mouth shut! Conservatives in Hollywood (with a few wonderful exceptions) have learned how to!

He REALLY should have considered this investment when he popped off his mouth in support of Biden. He is going to need every eyeball he can get on this and he may have killed it in the crib.

Pity, I was enjoying it before the Chinese Virus killed the inaugural season.

I don’t care who The Rock votes for, but he’s trying to use his fame to influence others.

What a moron. He knew he was about to do this and endorsed Biden driving away a huge number of potential fans. An unnecessary and idiotic move.

The football league attempted a re-launch this year, and it didn't go all that well.

It was going VERY well until the ChiCom Virus kneecapped the season.

I won't be watching The Rock's kneeling woke-y verion in '22.

After the Rock endorsed Biden the other day, Salty Cracker tore him a new one on youtube. It's hilarious.

Was enjoying the XFL. Sorry to hear it is associated with Duane Johnson.

The Rock Shares Kick Off Video

No one cares. It's too bad Vince McMahon couldn't have continued the XFL - I might have tuned in then.
