CORONAVIRUS IN NY Teachers union chief threatens legal action if de Blasio shuts down schools Coronavirus clusters in these NYC neighborhoods growing at an alarming rate It's past time to pull the plug on Andrew Cuomo's dictatorial pandemic powers State Liquor Authority's unjust enforcement deadly to lockdown-strained bars, eateries As many as half of all New York City bars and restaurants could shutter permanently within the next six months due to the coronavirus, according to a stunning new audit released Thursday by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.

The report lays bare the extent of the pandemic’s fiscal impact on one of the city’s lifeblood industries, which only saw a return to indoor dining on Wednesday — at a meager 25-percent of normal seating capacity.

“The industry is challenging under the best of circumstances, and many eateries operate on tight margins,” said DiNapoli. “Now they face an unprecedented upheaval that may cause many establishments to close forever.”

I heard this morning on my local AM radio show that 90 percent of New York City restaurants did not make their September rent payment.

Fredo and commie dip shit and his cookie baking wife could care less.

25% capacity indoors = can’t pay the bills.

But hey, Debalsio said full outdoor dining allowed through the winter !!

And every one of them will eventually reopen under new management.

Do you have any idea what the average lifespan of a restaurant in New York is? Five years.

And if an election was taking place today, they’d still vote for him.

Not a Chance, it will easily surpass 80% and most likely be pretty damned close to 100%

I think it will be years and years and years before NYC comes back. Without all the hustle and bustle, the people who once lived there will no longer have an interest. There will continue to be a movement out of NYC. Why pay exorbitant cost of living rates for nothing? DeBlasio screwed up so badly in the long term health of his city.

As soon as the coast is clear, hundreds of new ones will open. The number of people who want to quit their job and open a restaurant is enormous. With the competition bankrupt, an unusually large number of the new places will become successful.

The headline should not have been "...due to COVID-19."

It should be "due to the incompetent left wing leadership in the city and state."

Last sentence .... Feds should step in with more assistance.

Since DeBlasio & Cuomo seem intent on deliberately killing NYC, why should the taxpayers of the USA step up to thwart their plans? NO money from the Feds. If self-preservation doesn’t kick in (i.e. NYC needs jobs/tax revenue from the sectors they’re shutting down permanently), then that’s just the way it is. They’re either stuck on stupid or have more nefarious goals in mind.

COVID anxiety
It’s always the same
An excuse to destroy America
Rather than any ChiCom to blame
It’s very clear to me
The CCP got their money’s worth
For Leftwing politicians
Bought and paid for the same.

Yeah, they will. As I said, the average life span of a restaurant in NYC is five years, so they come and go all the time during normal times.

When things go back to normal, and they eventually will, those spaces that are already prepped for kitchen vent hoods, etc., will become prime real estate again for the next hot chef that wants to open his own restaurant.

Have some faith in your fellow man, even if they do reside in a liberal-infested hell hole like NYC.

Comparing historical death rates(all cause) vs Covid 19 rates.
Higher chance of perishing from normal life than virus….up until 80 year old males.

Why the heck haven’t they banded together?

Opened all at once?

Filed the mother-of-all class action suits?!

For God’s sake small biz owners, the LAST thing Albany wants is disovery.

You’re already going broke.

What the heck more do you have left to lose?!

And Biden says (lies) that this is all President Trumps recession. President Trump can create conditions to move all these manufacturing jobs back to the US all he wants which fuels the restaurants, bars and other service sector jobs, but if the Democrap Mayors and Governors refuse to open up the economy, nobody works. F Biden, his little protector Chris Wallace, and his co-conspirator Governors and Mayors in the blue and pink states.

well now that restaurants are open for indoor service let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

too many here will still hope that they fail, but you can do nothing about hateful folks.

I plan to spend a lot in indoor dining the rest of the year.

Democrats don’t seem to understand how economies work (or how tax revenue is paid). Without commerce, there are no taxes. You can not force someone to collect sales tax when there are not sale nor can you pay income tax if there is no income.

Stopping economic activity stopped the flow of tax revenue into the state (just to hurt President Trump’s chances at re-election).

Keep hair salons closed, lay-off flight attendants, shut down movie production, movie theaters, playhouses. Close restaurants and bars, shutter retail establishments and malls.

And Democrats act surprised that gays and lesbians are leaving the party.
