People like Dershowitz were adamant that “going after” a presidential candidate for criminal acts would make us “a third-world country”. So it was hands off. If he can’t be pursued for their criminal acts, then neither can they. He was #2 in the hierarchy of the criminal activity, even being an active participant in their scheming meetings.
