Maintaining its proud commitment to printing all the news that will divide Americans by race, sex, and creed, the New York Times published a list of what it claimed were the “922 of the most powerful people in America” while claiming that only 20% of them are people of color.
The term “people of color” is already ambiguous enough with white professors, grad students, and NAACP presidents claiming to be black. . .
The Times claimed that only 112 of the 431 House of Representatives members are people of color. It lists Rep. Rashida Tlaib as a person of color, while listing Rep. Justin Amash as white. Tlaib’s parents and Amash’s father came from Arab towns and neighborhoods in Israel. Amash’s mother came from Syria. They both have traditional Arab names.
How is Tlaib a person of color while Amash is white?

My father came here from Italy at six years old in 1926. He was darker than half the Hispanic or mixed race folks in Congress.
But I’m pretty sure they would have had included him in the white category

That’s actually not far from the truth. The Christian populations in the ME tend to be descendants of the people who pre-date the Arab takeover of the region. Also true of the ruling class in some places. See Assad, see bin Laden. Both “Arab” both at least nominally Muslim, but not really the same thing.

The classification is crazy. I have seen hundreds of Italians and many Germans with darker skin color than Tlaib.
Which is entirely the goal of Democrat scum - brutal destruction of democracy and Christianity.
But you have to subdue and oppress white people to get that done.

This also works with political affiliation. Black Republicans are counted as acting white, etc.
Ultimately, it is an entirely political attempted division.
Odd - nearly ALL the Arab Christians I met on my Middle East trip back in Nov. 2016 were rather dark-skinned.
All “Spanish Descent” people who were counted in the Census prior to 1980 were considered White.
LULAC agitated for this in the 1920s so they could be easily admitted to the United States. When they sensed that being a “victim minority” in the 1960s could help them, they agitated again to be considered Non-white, in the new “racial” category of “Hispanic”, which had no basis in genetics or even ethnicity - just a language cohort.
And that continues to this day. White Spaniard Conquistador descendants - like Xavier Becerra - prance around screaming “we are victims of the white people!” when they ARE white people whose main history has been the most ruthless victimization of anyone who wasn’t a Spanish Catholic.

There is no pure black in nature. No human passes the white tissue test. We are all one shade or another of brown...except for albinos, who are pink.

My grandfather (deceased) was darker than that moron and he was considered white — and that was in the days of segregation.
