He’ll fail, as usual. Given the timing, I don’t think the Senate vote will occur until the week after the election. The candidate may still pass, but there will be at least three or four events to occur before the election, and the 4-4 split of the court will hinder the election in a major way.

>> He’ll fail, as usual.

To the contrary, he’s very effective when interested.

Doubtful the “protests” at his home were a deterrent.

Pres. Trump is quietly stiffening the backbones of Graham, McConnell, and others ...

the mere fact that the Left is screaming so much suggests even they know it will happen soon

(we’re all helpless observers anyway, so enjoy the show!!)

They will confirm before the election. After the election, the yes votes that they have today will be less reliable.

Mitch sets the agenda. He will choose the date for the vote.

Here’s why I think you might be wrong:

I believe there’s a lot of pressure among Senators to get the new SC justice confirmed before Election Day. Many of them probably figure they don’t want voters to feel that their votes can somehow influence the results of the confirmation process. A quick confirmation effectively removes the SC nomination as an election issue entirely. The GOP may also figure that a quick confirmation will solidify their support even among many NeverTrumpers ... and will completely demoralize the Democrat base.

I’m not so sure.

Republicans are angry about what the Democrats did to Kavanaugh - they have been waiting for this exact moment to stick it to the Democrats.

Whew! I was worried that it would take a while before a concern troll weighed in.

Always good to hear from the “Aw, what’s the use?” crowd to understand why the Dems even have a foothold these days - so many so convinced that it’s not worth the effort, one wonders why they bother getting out of bed in the morning.

During the Kavanaugh hearings Lindseed went on an epic rant and said when he was chairman the next hearing would be fun very differently. I think we are about to see it.

Mitch Mcconnell would not announce he was going to give the nominee a floor vote unless he was sure he had the votes.

I’m on the fence about this as well, am kind of thinking LG would NOT say this unless he knew it would fail — before the election.

Ace McCain’s best bud is not really on our side, but occasionally does something for us, which does NOT further endear me to him.
