Considering that walking is such an everyday function of a bipedal species, it is incredible that we find so many different ways to do it. Perhaps that’s why our gaits – and what they say about us – are so fascinating. It takes dozens of muscles working together throughout the body to put one foot in front of the other. These subtle patterns of muscular flexes and strains are highly distinctive, so much so that scientists who study gait increasingly believe they are as unique to you as your fingerprint.

But they can’t identify the guy with the very strange walk who murdered the two policemen?
I recall one time, when I was in my thirties, going to a junkyard to get a part. Right as I left my car and started walking in, I noticed two black guys lounging around outside the shop. As I approached, their eyes started getting bigger and bigger with each step I took, and their jaws began to drop.
"What's the matter?" I asked, perplexed. To which one of them cried out in amazement, "We thought you was on SPRINGS!"
The guy that killed those two policemen looked like a little person had that same kind of walk also!! A little taller than most little people but if you look at the walk it was exactly the same!!

We’ve been using gaits as part of the target folders for a while. It was probably some military intel type who introduced that TTP to the LE community.
Their facial recognition software isn’t working because they can’t stop people from wearing masks.
You are correct in calling it strange- I’m not even ready to call it a guy yet.

Military folks could tell you this instinctively. Everyone dresses alike, everyone has the same haircuts, but watch them walk across a field and you know exactly who is coming late to formation.
“Walk this way, gentlemen”
Might be more difficult with soldiers from combat specialties (marching, uniform gaits).
