I thought the WMD’s were moved out of Iraq before we attacked? If they lied, shame on them.
I saw the INTELSAT pics of a massive convoy taking “cargo” from the supposed WMD site to the Bekka Valley, and then all pics ended.
I wish folks would be specific. The term WMD is similar to, though not quite as bad as, the “assault rifle”. When I was still active duty, it meant nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. Saddam did not have nukes. He tried and the Israelis put an end to that in the eighties. It’s thought he was working on bio weapons. We know he had chemical weapons. He used them against his own people in the eighties and probably against the Iranians during the Iraqi Iran wars. Convoys were observed carrying what was reported as the chemical weapons to Syria just before the allied invasion. Syria suddenly had chemical weapons afterward. It’s not hard to follow.
So I don’t get the continued argument over whether he had WMDs (illegal by UN and other laws) or not. If the question is did he have a nuke bomb in the works, probably not. But no doubts whatsoever about chemical. Bio was probably a maybe in that they were likely working on them.
