Swatting away an old lech trying to paw his granddaughter is the bare minimum of what Sessions could have done. Doing what was right would have been to publicly call Biden out on his behavior so he couldn't paw other peoples granddaughters.

That is precisely what Sessions was doing. The tell here is that he immediately grabbed her hand, had brief eye contact with Biden and moved on. This was a very tense event.
