Since NYC was formerly New Amsterdam, so perhaps the parade could hire a number of “Zwarte Piet” - the Dutch Santa’s “Moorish” helpers - to escort the parade?
Virtual events suck. They are a necessary evil for work and business and will totally flop as a voluntary, not needed event.

In NYC you need to get a permit to hold an event that closed streets. Hey could probably call it a “protest” and hold it anyway, but the Macy’s parade requires even more government approval than necessary for an important reason: the NYC Dept. of Transportation has to rotate the overhead traffic signals aside at every intersection along the route in order to accommodate the giant balloons.
Proving he is incompetent to even lead a parade.
The restrictions won’t be here in November, December, January, don’t worry about it, pro-lockdown fearpers said 6 months ago.

Re virtual events so true, the ladies organizing our church retreat said they’d do a virtual one this fall...I tried not be negative but inside I was like, that’s as appealing as watching a virtual garden grow...no interest.
Haven’t heard anything more about it. I hope they don’t waste their time putting it together.
I feel sorry for the small minority of NY voters who didn’t support this chump for mayor.
That said, I hope all the people who voted for him are miserable right now.
