Posted on 09/04/2020 4:56:27 PM PDT by SmokingJoe
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton has disputed a story in The Atlantic claiming that President Donald Trump called fallen World War I soldiers losers. Bolton told the New York Times Friday that I was there and I didnt hear that.
The Atlantics Jeffrey Goldberg published an article titled Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are Losers and Suckers. The story also claimed that Trump skipped a 2018 visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris, where the fallen of the battle of Belleau Wood are buried, because he feared rain would ruin his hair. Goldbergs sources were all anonymous.
Techno Fog @Techno_Fog On that Atlantic Story -
@JeffreyGoldberg and his "four sources" claim Trump's helicopter flight to the US/French cemetery wasn't cancelled due to weather.
FOIA docs prove this to be false.
Their "sources" are failing basic fact checks - making them essentially worthless.

The Atlantic story is quickly becoming a non-story. No one believes it. The media have no credibility. I can’t fathom Donald Trump EVER saying it. Nice try though...
Yep when you get slapped down by John Bolton for dissing Trump you have been righteously B863H slapped. But good for John.
LMFO - even John Bolton can’t sign on to this Trump hit piece?!
A moment of honesty...surprising,but welcome.
It was a coordinated smear from the Democratic Party and their media allies. Seriously, an anti-Trump veterans group managed to produce a commercial spot over night? US Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) joined the chorus condemning the President which is nothing new for her as she always recirculates lies and unverified rumors critical about Trump and the military.
Mission accomplished...well played,Rat Party Headquarters.
Biden already has an ad running. This hit job was planned. They ran early with it since Trump had an amazing convention followed by an awesome Pennsylvania rally, an economy coming back with or without blue states and the endorsements of police organizations across the country. This was another hit job. Why sit on it for two years and release it to a garbage publication like the Atlantic. Then Jennifer Griffin confirms an unsourced story. There needs to be consequences for these media outlets and peddlers of lies. And if its ok, then team Trump can say bullshit about Biden and see what sticks. Turnabout is fair play.
I don't see the damage. But, I don't always see everything...
Use words like supposedly? And at least that’s the claim? And then you say mission accomplished?
Well played? On supposedly? And at least that’s the claim?
You sound like a dem writer. Wake up :-)
Then what about covfefe, huh?
We know what that's code for right?
I have my DNC/BLM/Antifatard TDS decoder ring right here on my middle finger./sarc😎🖕
looks like that this hoax story was supposed to come out weeks from now... but they had to run it early (notice the ready made ads)
true panic setting in for Sleepy Joe.
Spaghetti did not stick. Next Hoax please.
Wikipedia: Jeffrey Goldberg has conducted five major interviews with President Barack Obama since 2008...
Peter Baker, the White House correspondent for The New York Times, recommended Goldberg’s interviews with President Obama...
In 2002, Goldberg’s “The Great Terror” published in The New Yorker argued that the threat posed to America by Saddam Hussein was significant, discussing the possible connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda as well as the Iraqi nuclear program, averring that there was “some debate among arms-control experts about exactly when Saddam will have nuclear capabilities. But there is no disagreement that Iraq, if unchecked, will have them soon ... There is little doubt what Saddam might do with an atomic bomb or with his stocks of biological and chemical weapons.”...
Glenn Greenwald called Goldberg “one of the leading media cheerleaders for the attack on Iraq”, claiming Goldberg had “compiled a record of humiliating falsehood-dissemination in the run-up to the war that rivaled Judy Miller’s both in terms of recklessness and destructive impact.” In 2008, in an article in Slate entitled “How Did I Get Iraq Wrong?”, Goldberg explained the reasons behind his initial support of the Iraq War and wrote that he “didn’t realize how incompetent the Bush administration could be.”...
5 Sept 2020: Glenn Greenwald (The Intercept) re-tweeted:
Meet the Press, March 24, 2002:
TIM RUSSERT: There’s an article in The New Yorker magazine by Jeffrey Goldberg which connects Iraq and Saddam Hussein with Al Qaeda. What can you tell me about it?
VICE PRES. CHENEY: I’ve read the article. It’s a devastating article, I thought.
Tweet: Norman Ornstein, resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a contributing editor for the Atlantic
Keep this in mind: on a scale from 1 to 10 in terms of credibility among journalists, @JeffreyGoldberg is a solid 10. No one is more credible.

Goldberg is a propagandist for the military industrial complex. Didn’t we all learn that years ago?
Yup. The Dems and the media do it every single time. They've had plenty of practice at it. And it's going to get even worse as we get closer to November. They have it all mapped out already.
The trump campaign war room needs to think of all the possible likely Dem/media nasty surprises and strategize on the effective and swift counterattacks even before they hit.
Plus preemptively hit Biden with devastating blows based on where they think Bidens’s next attacks are going to come from.
Seriously, an anti-Trump veterans group managed to produce a commercial spot over night?
Nope. Was all planned in advance.
The circle jerk press is going to get whiplash. Is Bolton back to being a war mongering baby killer in the press? Of course, we all know he is indeed a war mongering baby killer.
I hope Trump sues their A$$es for slander!
A wild, hard to believe, easily disproven story like this means their bag of tricks is running low.
It’s all they have. It’s pitiful and disgusting, but there’s more to come.
