Meth floods across US-Mexico border during coronavirus pandemic

In fiscal year 2019, the Office of Field Operations seized some 68,585 points of meth nationwide, compared to 118,153 pounds so far this year...since the borders have remained closed to only essential travel because of the coronavirus pandemic, officers said it’s forcing criminals to use other routes and methods of concealment.

The headline is very misleading. The epidemic is not increasing meth traffic. But with far less of the usual legitimate border traffic, the meth traffic is harder to conceal. Because of that, the price is up, too.

Not more meth - better interdiction.

A massive deployment of new technology is occurring - covering even more miles than the simultaneously massive deployment of new Trump-style super Wall System.

Ports of Entry are getting new Technology too. It is a radical and rapid improvement.
