“Gov. Kristi Noem Extends Offer to Salon Owner Smeared by Nancy Pelosi; “South Dakota Is Open For You!”
Jesus NO Kristi! Don’t make the same mistake Perry did recruiting for Texas! However, on the off chance she’s conservative then ok.
I think Kristi will be ready for it and will shoot back, though.
My wife of 50 years was born and raised there. If Biden gets elected weve already decided to move to her home town of 537 people.
My wife and I just came back from the Black Hills. Some of the most fantastic scenery in the entire country is there. In four days, we did:
1. Wall Drug Store (55 miles east of Rapid City)
2. Badlands National Park (entrance just south of Wall)
3. Mount Rushmore (24 miles south of Rapid City)
4. Crazy Horse Memorial (11 miles south of Mt. Rushmore)
5. Sturgis (25 miles NW of Rapid City)
6. Devils Tower, WY (110 miles NW of Rapid City)
7. Deadwood (15 miles west of Sturgis)
8. Custer State Park (40 miles south of Rapid City)
9. Jewel Cave (13 miles west of Custer)
10. Newcastle, WY (24 miles west of Jewel Cave)
We flew on Delta into Rapid City; very nice regional airport (air tickets were surprisingly cheap, only about $300 per person from DCA roundtrip). Rental car was $60 per day, all included. Stayed at a Courtyard by Marriott, $85 per day, all included. Gasoline is selling for anywhere from $2.099 to $2.309 for 87 unleaded. While the state government is not making you wear masks, many of the businesses require masks to enter (such as Target). Some restaurants are operating at 50% or less capacity and have tables roped off, others are not; the government left it up to the businesses as to what to do.
The only disappointment was not seeing the buffalo herd at Custer State Park; we did encounter a family of friendly burros, which was pretty darn neat. We did see buffalo and antelope at Badlands N.P. We ran into a bighorn sheep herd at Jewel Cave (where the cave was closed to tourists due to COVID). While at Custer State Park, make sure you drive on the Needles Highway (SD Hwy 87), possibly the most incredible road I’ve been on in this country. Wind Cave is also closed due to COVID.
The weather was generally great, although the nights get cold there (it was barely over 40F Sunday night). The elevation in downtown Rapid City is 3,202 feet AMSL, with heights in the Black Hills to the south and west going up to as much as 7,200 feet AMSL.
If you like America, you’ll love this area!!!
While vacationing in Puerto Rico the Farmer convention was in our hotel. The SD farmers and ranchers were the nicest people.Id go ASAP.
That's good to consider. My business relies on 24 hour operations, Sunday afternoon til Friday afternoon. It needs redundant power sources and very high speed internet. (I currently have a backup generator and two internet providers.) I'm looking at moving as much as possible to the cloud, but it will still require myself and employees to access servers over the internet either from home or the office.
I'm slowing working on these problems since I have some time to solve them. The one thing I will not tolerate is any state that forcibly closes businesses due to a political hoax of a flu. As of now, I am able to operate out of my home. I am working as I write this; I am waiting on testing results running on a server. I'll temporarily disappear from FR when they complete.
“South Dakota? How many FReepers would consider that state as a destination for migration?”
Great! No income tax, wide open spaces and no filthy big democrat cities. World class destination for pheasant hunting and gun laws to die for. Huge reservations though.
The new political divisions are no longer liberal/conservative but rather BLM socialism/MAGA populism.
The traditional 80s "conservative firebrand" is a shrinking minority and will find that there will be a lot of people in the MAGA/populist camp who don't check every conservative bonafide box (as President Trump himself didn't).
and she should name it “This isn’t Pelosi’s Salon”
Kristi will not have the vulnerabilities that Sarah had (a large brood that apparently walked straight off the set of a reality show and a running mate all too willing to throw her under the bus).
Damn straight, I am. You made me chuckle by the way.
Signed - Capitalist Pig (oink, oink)
You will probably need to locate near Sioux Falls or at least one of the larger cities to get the redundancy you need. Moving stuff to the cloud is your best bet though.
Brookings (where SD State U is located) would be a good possibility; they have some tech already. (Ever heard of Daktronics? They do Jumbotrons and stuff for big sports stadiums.)
Nice but she probably made more money attending to Nutsy Pelousy in one sitting than she could make in a day or a week anywhere in South Dakota as a hair dresser.
Correct.
Erica Kious - Florida’s nice and because we have a Republican Governor we don’t have thugs and goons burning down our cities.
Good point and no argument from me. Trump has definitely changed the playing field on the right.
“I was hoping when Trump spoke at Mt. Rushmore hed replace Pence with her on the ticket.”
You and me both!
Unless you got some kind of special deal, the reason they were cheap was COVID. Normally they're pretty pricey, due to lack of competition.
RE: Floridas nice and because we have a Republican Governor we dont have thugs and goons burning down our cities.
OK, riddle me this... why is Florida considered a battleground state in 2020? Is it because of all the blue state migrants from NY and NJ moving there?
We must make sure that President Trump is reelected first. If the Marxists steal the election through massive vote fraud, they will be coming for all of us including the currently free states.
