And, by all means, dont wait for the trial. Shout No justice, no peace, before giving the justice system a chance to work.
How stupid are cops? These days everyone has a video camera in their hands. It never occurs to them they are being filmed ?
What did they do that was stupid? The only stupid is people in the media who look at a situation about which they know absolutely nothing and spend 5 minutes talking about it hysterically. Perspective is everything. Im pretty sure you could not suffocate in a spit shield if you tried. It strongly appears the guy died of an overdose, just like Floyd. What are police supposed to do?
I have to correct my previous post; there are allegedly some dangers in using a spit shield according to trial lawyers who sue police departments when people die from other causes during the use of a spit shield, just like this case.
exactly...this is how people get buffaloed...so afraid of “riots” and then attack the cops instead. Can you imagine having to deal with this kind garbage everyday....for 50 grand a year?....no thx.
plus...he died a week later ...hmmm

" On March 23, 2020 the Rochester Police Department executed a Black man named Daniel Prude, said local activist Stanley Martin.
Mr. Prude was naked, defenseless, unarmed, and experiencing a mental health crisis.

The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, caused by complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint, excited delirium [and] acute phencyclidine [PCP] intoxication.

Don’t jump up and scream no justice no peace long before the facts are known...oops, too late..
A”spit hood”is a mesh bag designed to be placed over the head with a lopp at the bottom to hold it in place. Similar to mosquito netting, it is not possible to suffocate by wearing one, can’t be done.
He might have choked on his own puke, but that’s not the cop’s fault, they didn’t feed him too much PCP. Someone already posted the overall effects of PCP, and quite often if I see someone nude, screaming, resisting arrest, and trying to spit on officers, I immediately suspect wiped out on PCP. It can make you think you’re 10 feet tall and bulletproof. Literally...It has a definite tendency to make people act out in violent ways. Cops shooting are no problemo, you’re 10 feet tall and bulletproof...
People high on PCP have been shot a half dozen times with a 9mm and still kept coming. One of the police videos I’ve seen was exactly that, guy with a knife coming at a cop, she shot him 5 or 6 times, he was still coming...wiped out on PCP.
More than one actually, a couple of them in the past 2 or 3 years. PCP is one ugly drug. In small doses, just a general high, go party and have a good time. Do a little too much, people get really ugly sometimes and very violent. I had a friend years ago who did too much one night, thought it was Angel dust. (often passed off as angel dust, actually pcp) ( I think it’s really horse tranquilizer, may be wrong though) Cops hauled him in because he was trying to surf down the main street in town...on a surfboard...fortunately, he didn’t fight, just let them take him away, woke up in jail wondering why.
PCP is a big problem these days, almost as bad as crack and fentanyl. I remember it already being a problem 40 years ago though. Not hard to OD...even easier to go apesh$t and do something violent, and never remember it sometimes. Nasty stuff.
Why is a man naked on 3/23/20 in Rochester NY ?
See earlier post about the medical consequences of PCP listed in the above posting.
I've spent a lot of time on business in Rochester, which has always required an overnight stay. Very few people live within the inner loop and the place becomes a ghost town after dark, except for riff-raff, beggars, sketchy-people, and worse. Even during the day, very few people are out walking the street. Situation awareness is a must. And while there are a few very nice neighborhoods on the East End (E. Main, University, and East Ave.), the neighborhoods change very fast and the transition is not good. I have never seen or experienced anything in Rochester that would make me want to live or work there, which is why most people who work in Rochester live in the GOP controlled suburbs.
As a side note, I was at a meeting in downtown Rochester the day that the Rodney King riots broke out. Mounted LEO had to escort us from the office building to the parking garage as bricks, rocks, and glass flew by us.
He doesn’t look black in the photo.
And protesters ready to go.
