While Trump has made some moves to chip away at the black vote, the biggest problem for the Democrats is that they followed up Barack Obama with two candidates who might be even less inspiring for black voters than they are for other demographics. At least Hillary had the “I’m with her” thing to go on. Biden is about as big of a dud as there is. He’s such a bad choice that I’m amazed he’s not a Republican. He’s a stiff of McCain or Romney proportions.

Trump is fairly popular with black men ... who don’t vote. Black women will vote for Biden in huge numbers, but will they turn out? It’s going to take a lot of cheating.

interestingly....I think Trump has effectively enacted a lot of what Jack Kemp wanted to do.

He was ahead of his times, I think. No one really saw things the way he did once he was gone....certainly not paul ryan who became just a little toady for the left.

In many ways, Kemp sort of transcended the traditional left/right divide, and established a new way of right thinking.

He was a good man, and strangely, for an ex-pro athlete, he was one of the more well-read elected officials.

I think Trump the great American sledgehammer has knowingly or not, enacted much of Kemp’s program (and even more so, with prison reform) and I think it’s amazing.

I have a different view of why Republicans never explicitly sought black votes. They were purists and thought reaching out to a racial group was racist.

True that on the practical level they also thought they wouldn’t get many black votes. However, they never asked for “white votes” either.

However, this violated a very basic principle of politics, which is always ask people for their vote.

Trump just came in and said screw that, let’s start telling black people why they should vote for us.

Trump and the black vote is a Nixon goes to China moment.

Trump isn’t a “traditional Republican” (whatever that is) by any stretch of the imagination, so there is less of a “stigma” to support him than any other Republican. That gets them in the door.

But you can’t “bait & switch” them. It’s up to the future candidates to keep them — or to convince them to be candidates themselves.

Basically, I hope that liberal Republicans (the Bush wing, et al) don’t squander this opportunity as they did with Conservatives and the Tea Party movement when they realized they were being used and stopped showing up to “unite” a party.

I for one found the parade of sane, rational black people speaking at the GOP Convention highly refreshing.

Generally TV only shows you the far-left politicized loons.

This is precisely why the white Left lunatics have become so enraged...they are ALWAYS angry, but this behavior goes miles away from anger.

They will just have to learn to live with the changes.

We had to.

I would rather characterize this as an outreach to the people who traditionally have a rough time in life. That can be the terminally sick who are told to smoke pot while they slowly die. That can be any economically disadvantaged black, brown or white, who grows up in a very poor area without good schools. That can be any group where too many of the adults are in prison for low level non-violent law breaking. Fatherless homes cover white, black and brown homes.

The policies President Trump has helped implement are the outreach, because all people who see positive results in their lives, coming from his policies, are happy to shout their stories to the world. Someone who’s life is improved doesn’t care whether the policy is from a law, or from an Executive Order signed because Congress putzes around too much.

This is not a Black Outreach; it is an Outreached Hand Up. Tim Scott’s story about his mentor, who expanded Tim’s vision of his place in the world and what he could accomplish, is the day by day outreach that Conservatives do. A Thousand Points of Light is not just a slogan.

All Americans should vote for Trump.

His opponents are deranged, dangerous totalitarians.

Democrats have pushed welfare-based policies like a drug dealer pushes heroin.

Trump has wised them up to the plantation owners game, they have more now then they ever had a chance to be on their own.

“One of the things that conservatives noted approvingly was the way that the Republican National Convention reached out to blacks.”

As I have commented previously, Not JUST the convention or the “reaching out”. Trump has DEEDS! Trump has REAL accomplishments for Black Americans he can point to.

In Trump’s case its not “talk” but ACTION! DEEDS not words.

While showcasing MANY Blacks for Trump (including Democrat Blacks for Trump) at the convention, it was the culmination of a policy, an effort, to actually HELP Black Americans.

THAT is why the shift is REAL. Not just some pandering for the convention. Not just for SHOW!

While its an uphill battle, Trump only needs to increase his Black vote by 10% to DESTROY the Democrat party.

If Trump has “coattails” like I think he WILL, it is OVER for the Demonrat Party.

Thank God! Praise God! I pray for the overwhelming defeat of the evil Demonrat Party, in Jesus name, Amen.
