That’s capitalism for ya.
Btw, where we bought our property the home inventories were nearly non-existent. How fast were homes being sold? So fast we bought ours remotely! That’s right, over the phone because we were in escrow and the property in AZ was nearly exactly what we wanted and we’d already done the ground work and reconnaissance missions to the area.
Thankfully, it all worked out perfectly.
Good luck to you.

I know, it is just that we picked Phoenix for personal reasons. We need access to a Traditional Catholic Church in a dry, warm area (child's health condition) with plenty of traditional Catholics in the area that is friendly to home schooling, and affordable. For those reasons, we cannot just live in rural Arizona, where the prices are still reasonable.
I would just like the Californians to try Vegas, or Denver, or Austin. I know ... selfish. The worst part is that I committed the faux pas of wearing a Dodger cap (lifelong fan with family support going back to the Brooklyn era), and people thought I was FROM CA, a state I never visited.
I regret that I never got to see the California of Ronald Reagan, Perry Mason and Sandy Koufax.
