Former President George W. Bush will not explicitly endorse Joe Biden despite a number of more traditional Republicans crossing the aisle to back the Democrat in recent days.
'We've been quite clear and consistent - President Bush is retired from presidential politics and will not be weighing in,' Bush spokesman Freddy Ford told The Hill newspaper, adding 'it's not in the cards.'
There's been speculation that Bush could join Republicans including ex-Sen. Jeff Flake, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and other retired GOP pols who says they'll vote Biden over President Donald Trump.

Certainly he must know that HIS former base is shaking its collective head and saying "toodles".
I guess that he thought Jeb had a chance if it wasn't for Trump; that, however, is false. Jeb, who was open borders to the point of giving campaign speeches in spanish, was a non starter among us voters.
Another issue is that Trump's successes make Dubya look ineffectual, there's no coming back from that one.
That said, I'll always recall that Dubya was very supportive of those in uniform, including my two "kids", and I do respect him for that.

I think George P. might be a nephew. Not sure. He says he likes the Trump. However he is still a Bush which means if his “Lips” where moving we know it’s a Lie.

It pains me to say you are probably correct. We had a great opportunity, indeed, if not an obligation and pissed it away. It's easy to imagine what would have happened had we turned our back on Japan and Germany the day those WWII hostilities ended.
The kids loved us and there was a period of time most of the teen-age males would proudly wear any tee shirt that had something American on it. They would line up in the open for several blocks at the crack of dawn at the front gate for medical attention. The mothers and fathers seemed most appreciative of what was done for their children.
With some imagination and dexterity, we could have done it on the cheap and many of those teen age males would now have roles in Iraq's government.
