Democrats have been working hard with considerable success to make Austin like Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York and Baltimore.

"For this November’s local election, 20 candidates are running for just five available seats on the city council. All of the incumbent Democrat councilmembers trying to stay in power this year are facing challengers." Maybe there is hope. We shall see.

Austin has a large population of students and government bureaucrats, because it has universities and the state capitol.

Most cities with that combination are very far left, such as Madison, Wisconsin. Austin may be big enough to overcome that obstacle.

This happened in VA a few months ago: Republicans won in districts Obama won heavily:

“What Happened in Staunton” on Tuesday? Were the Election Results a One-Off, a “Canary in the Coalmine,” or What?

There is no hope if GOP votes are split between a bunch of candidates for City Council against 5 DEM candidates.

In my Texas Town, City Council Candidates can’t run under an identified Political Party.

Once overrun by rats, the infestation is almost impossible to erase.

Austin will remain democrat, even if the city is completely destroyed by democrat idiocy. Then the rat will move to some other place to infect, and destroy that new place too.

What a shame.

I lived in Austin for a couple of years, mid 80’s, only large city I’d ever live in by choice. It was a great place then, the city cops were some of the best I’ve ever seen.

I have no idea how many times I’ve walked, driven or ridden a bicycle by that police station (in the picture above, recognized it instantly) and not wanted to flip the finger at them, which was a great temptation in Houston...never did it, but wanted to, Hoston cops were assholes.

Some excellent places to eat, music scene one of the best in the country, that’s why I was there. Played music on 6th street for about 4 years. 6th street at night was an amazing place. I knew all the street performers, some very good, most barely tolerable.

To see the stories now, it’s really depressing. I wouldn’t even waant to visit these days, much less live there. Democrats have turned it into a sewer in need of draining..seems we have another city or 3 like that...or more...

Seattle
Portland
DC
Chicago
LA
San Francisco
Baltimore
NYC

WHat do they all have in common?

All hell holes, all have high crime rates, all have higher than normal taxes, higher than normal cost of living, high and increasing murder rates...

And all run by democrats...

Wonder what we could do to fix all their problems???

Yes that’s a rhetorical question...

More of the same -- from that nasty blue blot in the center of our great, red State -- the People's Republik of Austinistan!...
