House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney said Saturday that widely reported mail delays were “worse” than lawmakers initially believed. The New York Democrat released a handful of new data slides from the U.S. Postal Service ahead of the vote on her bill to curb in new policy changes to the agency, in an attempt to combat the claims from Republicans that the majority is pursuing a “conspiracy theory.” The documents show a stark decline in USPS service evaluations starting in July in several categories.

In the past the serviceman's mail-in votes got trashed because they didn't get them in on time....because they didn't receive them in time to get them in on time? What a perfect way for lots of ballots to get the same treatment.

Clear strategy: If Trump wins and the Dems keep the House they will impeach over this issue. Bet on it.

I'm not worried about slow mail when it comes to the election. I am concerned about lazy ass scum bag union mailmen that have been voting Rat all their lives because their daddy and union told them so. They are the ones that can easily lose ballots that will never be counted.

There should be only one way to vote. That is in person. If voting is important enough to you, then you go to the polling place nearest your home. The only exceptions that should be made are for people serving their nation away from home.

so apparently, when you block highways, riot in the cities shutting down the roads, and burn down post offices, it slows down the mail.

i mean, also, yhe new guy decided at not going bankrupt is worth a day delay on mail delivery. so he stopped authorizing overtime.

my trash service did the same, so sometimes they dont get my trash til the next day.

House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney said Saturday that widely reported mail delays were “worse” than lawmakers initially believed.

The drama queen was whining today about the fact that the Senate won't cooperate with her in fixing the problem - which we all know is that that Orange man is conspiring to steal the election by running backed by a basket of deplorables, racists and skin heads who he has conned into voting for him.

We are rural. About as rural as one can get in California. We have not experienced any slowdown associated with postal delivery, or pick up. The months leading up to Christmas can be sometimes frustrating, but we’ve been here 32 years without any complaint quality problems. Even with the rain, and dirt roads there aren’t many serious problems.

Well I have a personal story. The greedy bastard property management company I have been fighting for months turned me over to a debt collector. Missed the court hearing due to slow USPS Mail handling times.

I moved out at end of my lease in March. Gave 30 day notice in February so I though per the renewal requirements. Complex office closed mid-February due to coronavirus. So wrote a letter saying not renewing my lease. Put it in lockbox by office door. When I moved out 1st week of March, left my keys in same lockbox. Complex not offering move-out walkthroughs due to virus.

Stopped all future ACH payments from March on after my March rent was taken. Fast-forward to May. Got a letter from a debt collector. Allowed to take no other action. Claimed I owed April rent, April utilities, and late fees ($1300 rent plus $100 utilities plus $1500 late fees). Disputed it.

Repeat in June and July. Each month adding $2900 in added bills. Finally a Key replacement fee, a cleaning bill, a re-painting bill and a repair bill for ceiling damage totaling about $3000. the upstairs apartment from another renter toilet overflowed while I was moved out. I have pictures of the pristine ceiling and apartment condition before I left, which I submitted with my keys upon move out. Again, due to the office being closed until August and denied a move out walkthrough. Luckily I has a Walgreens receipt and time stamps on the photos. All told, $11700 was now owed. Been calling and disputing the amount since April with every new collection notice.

Now WTF does this have to due the the USPS? Got a email notice of a credit report change last week. New derogatory information on my credit report and a new public record on my credit report on August 11. Well I have USPS informed delivery. Just got the mailed legal notice picture of the certified envelope on August 20 on informed delivery. The court date set for August 10. Today is August 22, nearly 2 weeks after. Forwarding mail from the Longmont Colorado old apartment address to Loveland Colorado (20 miles) shouldn’t take that long.

Mail might be delayed because of corona. If one person in a station gets sick they send the people who work next to them home till they can get tested. Though I haven’t noticed any delay in mail (at least with packages , they show up when they are suppose to)

The last vote count should take place on Nov. 3...That's when the election takes place...Counting votes after that date is ridiculous...

A vote should not be legitimate if it is put in a mailbox by Nov. 3...The vote is over on Nov. 3...

That is rough. I seriously wish you a lot of luck in getting a resolution to the problem. It’s never fun fighting through something like that in normal times and this is anything but normal. Like dominoes falling - one problem leading to another and all the time adding up to horrendous bills!

...delay in mail (at least with packages , they show up when they are suppose to)

_______________________________

Being rural, I do a lot of mail order. Mostly not worth the 26-mile each way trip to scour stores and find lots of sold-out inventory.

Everything has been slow by anywhere from a day to 10 days. Detailed tracking shows items sitting in one place for 4-7 days. Once it gets moved to a plane or truck, everything proceeds as it should.

The problem appears to be packages in regional processing hubs. Even small padded envelopes are delayed.

The only regular mail delay was a check due in April that took 3 weeks to travel from Chicago area to Central WI.

My former residence was affected by moving a processing hub 250 miles away from the logical venue where it had been for decades. Also, the carriers there did not work in inclement weather or if they did, it was a truncated route. That has been going on for several years.

My processing hub here is logically about 75 miles away. I haven’t been here long enough to observe the carriers.

USPS recently lost yet ANOTHER package I was expecting. I eventually got it about 3 weeks late.

Thanks. Worse part is due to the end of the enhanced federal unemployment and absolutely no luck finding anything relevant job-wise, I was forced to flee the US to a place where I have a fully-paid house. Nearly 35 years of experience, and the best I could find is a part-time, $50/ hr, 7 hour a week online adjunct university teaching gig. Adjunct: only get paid for the hours you actually teach with no benefits. Only doing it to get the school email address and access to their international job openings - there are some 50 campuses world-wide.

I would have been homeless otherwise, as even Airbnb’s do get expensive, it have been more than what Colorado unemployment I had left (only $227 left in benefits) and definitely more than what jobs are actually available in Denver - The part-time minimum wage jobs I often mention here. Sorry, no where in the US can you live on $232 a week.

We do tend to lose sight of just how tough going it is for people but may we never lose our ability to have empathy for people in rough conditions. I do wish you the best. Everything you related was out of your control when nothing was done or delivered or taken care of on time. I get frustrated with the minor things that take place; people not returning messages etc. I couldn’t handle anything major at my age. I take care of an ailing husband along with keeping a house and decisions to make on my own and believe me, I have lots of pity parties for myself. We have been blessed regardless of problems in our later age. I’ve often wondered WHY these problems didn’t come when we were better able to handle them when we were younger - LOL! It’s like the old joke - who thought getting old would happen so fast?

Wish you the best results wherever you are.
