'I could not believe it': Grandmother questions why Greeley school is not requiring masks

Aug 22, 2020 GREELEY, Colo. — A private school in Greeley is being accused of not following the governor's statewide mask order.
"I think the school needs to be accountable," said the grandmother of two young children attending the school.
The grandmother asked to hide her identity to protect her grandchildren.
"It’s Colorado guidelines that’s masks are mandated and these are adults making these choices for these children, and I think it’s wrong," the woman said.
School at Dayspring Christian Academy started this week.
On the school's website, a message to families and staff reads, "We will not require students or staff to wear a mask; it will be optional and up to the parent’s discretion."
This was included as part of the reopen plan.
School officials could not be reached for comment.
The governor's office told Denver7 that "masks are required in all public spaces including schools for anyone over 10 years old."
It's unclear if the state will take action against the school.
Does such an edict from a governor carry any weight under the law? I don’t see how it could, unless marshal law was declared.
Are they guidelines that masks be mandated—or mask mandates?

There ought to be a study of how long this mask business is going to continue for recently post-pubescent lads and lasses when they discover the masks are rotting their teeth.
My take is that the kids will not get sick even if they get the virus. However, if the kids take the virus home with them then Granny could get very sick. Incidentally, about 14 days ago, I walked past a preschool in Denver and saw about 14 kids playing in an outdoor fenced in area. None were wearing masks. Many of them were closer than 4 feet to each other. Acoma at W11th Ave. or near there. Just saying, it is the elderly and or those who are ill who need to worry. Healthy and Young, no need to worry.

It seems to depend on the judge. I think Polis has lost a few cases.
I’m wondering how a private school where you have to pay to attend is a “public space”. The public can’t go in there.
It is a private school granny, dont like it? unenroll the kiddos.
That mask isn’t going to save your grandchildren, but their age most likely will. Chillax granny.

Until very recently the consensus was that asymptomatic kids don’t transmit the virus. They don’t carry enough viral load. CDC unable to find any cases with contact tracing, etc.
That’s been conveniently attacked just in the last week by one study.

A Private school is NOT a public place.

Quarantine Grandma if she has any underlying health conditions, but don’t force asymptomatic kids into those useless, suffocating masks.
If she believes the environment is that dangerous then why did she send those kids into it?
Most employers requiring them are violating OSHA regulations for the workplace. People in hospitals wear mask to keep infections down, not from viruses, but from much larger germs and bacteria.
These mask people had been indoctrinated by the government "experts" to wear masks or we're all going to die.
I have never worn a mask and definitely school kids don't need to wear one.
Some airline kicked a mother and her kids off of a flight the other day because her 2 year old wouldn't keep her mask on. Ridiculous. Where are the intelligent adults in this country?
The best example of ridiculousness was the couple I say last week driving down the highway here in Florida in a convertible with the top down and both of them wearing masks. Good Lord.
