Years ago there was a bar in downtown Corning called the "Glory Hole". Just sayin'.
They claimed it was a reference to the Corning Glassworks furnaces, of course.

There was the “How Gay” tavern in Watkins Glen too. But that was before the word had been co-opted by the homos. And yes, “glory hole” is indeed the name of the hole in the furnace from which a glass blower gathers molten glass.
