A new Netflix film 'Cuties' has sparked outrage for showing children dressed provocatively and twerking on camera.
The French film revolves around an 11-year-old Senegalese Muslim girl named Amy, who joins a twerking competition at school, upsetting her mother and going against her family traditions, while attempting to embrace her 'burgeoning femininity' through 'sensual dance moves'.
Despite not yet making it to Netflix, Cuties, which has an NC-17 rating - the US's strictest movie rating that means nobody under the age of 18 can watch it - has already received major backlash for 'hyper-sexualizing' minors thanks to its incredibly provocative trailer and poster.

We had Netflix for years starting with the DVDs in the mail plans. They used to offer so much more for so much less. We cancelled a few months ago... it has just gotten more and more pathetic and disgusting, especially their Netflix original productions.

Netflix is crap. There is nothing wholesome. Or, if it tries to come across as wholesome, it’s got a gay vibe hidden in it with your your complimentary gay scenes. I look at the movies that appear in the rows and I wince and then think about having to go through them to hopefully find something that is passable. Topics are: serial killers, drug addicts who turn into serial killers, prison scenes with serial killers and drug addicts, historical place movies about serial killers with drug and sex addicts. And then the horror/fantasy genre which is same but many times more gruesome all the time.
One good note — Netflix is advertising so people must be pulling out.
The really gross behavior by Netflix was that nasty comedian’s abortion show. It was disgusting.
I miss Netflix and my kids miss many of the shows, but for my wife and I the idea of supporting that sickness was beyond the pale and we cancelled.
I did not really care too much about who they hired or paid in advance for shows although I think they vastly overpaid.
We are about to do the same with Disney.
I am not a “boycott” person, but I do believe each of us should make our own spending decisions that are as much in line with our personal beliefs as possible.
Amazon is the really tough one for me. We order a lot of stuff and the prime membership is a big savings and less time on the road and in stores.
Twerking is disgusting. It looks like some primitive jungle tribal fertility dance you’d see on an old Tarzan movie. Perfectly horrible, I don’t care who’s doing it.
This isn't a cute film about girls dancing. This is an adult film (NC-17) about and starring 11-year old girls.
If it was an innocent movie about girls' beauty pageants or dance competitions, then why the adult rating?
I'm no prude, believe me, and no pizzagate conspiracist either but it's difficult to argue that there's no campaign to normalize the sexualization of children in the face of this stuff.
I’m surprised they’re going after the muslim demographic and trying to turn their little girls into whores. They aren’t the most tolerant and calm folks when you try to attack their culture and beliefs.
Look it up on IMDB. Currently has a 1.6 rating out of 10 from close to 700 responders. Almost nothing on IMDB under a 5.0 is worth watching. This will get pulled.
Will the DNC be showing clips during their convention?
