So true. However, they are Representatives. And, they truly are representative of the blithering idiots in their districts that vote for them. And, the rest of us, elsewhere, suffer for it. And, it happens on BOTH sides of the aisle.
As Rush has stated for many years, the POWER of Incumbency is difficult to overcome. Once a person manages to get into the Club. The Club will do everything in its power to protect that person. Even from and especially from challengers from their own party. Why? Because they use that power to protect themselves from inter-party challengers that point out their infidelity to the people they represent for the money the Lobbyists give them.
Then there is the fact that many people who vote are uninformed and vote for the R or the D or, simply for name recognition without the slightest clue as to the actual voting record of the candidates.
