Reminding me of Bill’s legacy to Change the World - Frederick Gates (whose connection to Bill’s side of the family has been erased as near as I can tell) had similar lofty goals back when he was ruling the world with John D. Rockefeller and taking their Change Ideas to China way back when - after a difference in opinion of future direction of Rockefeller philanthropy, GAtes went off on his own.

First, Bill Gates doesn’t make vaccines. He provides funding in the form of grants through his foundation to companies that make vaccines.
Second, Moderna’s mRNA vaccine does NOT EDIT ANY GENES. It doesn’t touch any of your chromosomes. That’s outright FAKE NEWS.
What it does is provide your ribosomes with mRNA, which causes them to manufacture glycoproteins (ABSOLUTELY NORMAL FOR THEM TO DO) which happen to be the antigens for a target virus. This illicits an immune system response, but there is no virus, no infectious material, no gene editing, or any other nonsense sci-fi fantasy fiction. The antigen is harmless, but identifiable foreign. The immune system builds T-cell and B-cell responses which persist and thus immunity against SARS-CoV-2 is achieved.

That’s because it’s all misinformation and fearmongering. First of all, most of the vaccine candidates (e.g. Oxford’s, which is probably in the lead in terms of timeline) are traditional vaccine types.
Second, the third generation vaccines like Moderna’s simply present mRNA to your ribosomes. Ribosomes are designed to take those instructions and produce whatever protein is encoded. In this case, it’s the antigen (a protein that sits on the surface of SARS-CoV-2, but is not infectious or harmful by itself, but the immune system will identify it as foreign) for SARS-CoV-2. It produces the antigens (just another protein as far as the ribosomes are concerned) and the immune system reacts to them as it would any foreign invader. T-cell and B-cell immune responses remain effective against future encounters with SARS-CoV-2, which means immunity.
Most vaccine candidates are the same as every other traditional vaccine you’ve ever gotten and they’ll likely work just fine. The generation 3 (mRNA) vaccines are faster and cheaper to produce, which means we can make more vaccine doses in less time for less money. For things like Influenza that rapidly mutate, this means we can stay ahead of it and get more effective vaccines, which can save tens of thousands of lives each year.
I say let all of the liberal idiots run out and get the shot. We could luck out and they all have adverse effects and it not go well for them at all. Could solve our problem.
