I’ve been thinking seriously of moving from California to Texas, with first choice being the Austin area. But the insanity has spread to Texas, carried by the liberals moving to Texas - we can’t run from liberalism, it must be fought.

You should never have chosen Austin. It's the Berkeley/Madison of the southwest. This isn't sue to "insanity spreading to Texas"; it's been that way for a long time. Probably because it is the capitol and full of government employees, and it is dominated by one of the largest universities in the country.

It's a beautiful area, with lots of nice smaller towns around it, but Austin itself is a lost cause.

Lived in Austin from the 70s to 2000. Keep Austin Weird was always the mantra, but it was originally just a bunch of laid back "live and let live" people. Very low crime rate if you didn't count possession of marijuana.

When they decided to become "silicon hills" and the California nazis moved in, I left. Last time I was downtown, it was nothing but construction, morons with top knots and Bernie signs.

How many Austinites does it take to change a light bulb?

Seven. One to change the buib and six to talk about how great things were in the sixties.
