Chile has been in chaos since October 2019. Roiled by mass protests and looting, the government of Chile has declared a state of emergency and imposed curfews in many cities across the country: About 20,000 soldiers are patrolling the streets, over 2,300 people have been injured and thousands have been arrested and at least 23 have been killed - the worst unrest Chile has faced since Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship three decades ago. To make matters worse, the Chilean authorities have begun advancing an increasingly authoritarian message implying that the conflict must be solved with repression. The government of President Pinera does not seem to understand the magnitude of the problem or what is at stake: Namely the problem of poverty, inequality, as well as lack of civil liberties in Chile, which need to be addressed urgently. Hence this book endeavours to improve civil rights and political stability in Chile; so that human rights and human dignity can be restored in this beautiful country

I visited Chile when Pinochet’s regime ran things. The country was spotless, no litter. No graffiti either. A heavily armed cop on almost every corner. The crime rate was almost zero. The people seemed to like the security.

This is the endgame for the current BLM/Soros fueled insurgency. Only the donkey party role is to be able to pull a legislative backstab to approve a new ‘constitutional convention’.

In reality the situation was not stabilized. The commies were just laying low waiting for their opportunity. Pinochet should have picked a successor general and thoroughly trained him to follow in his footsteps while making sure the entire GO/FO base was absolutely reliable. The process would have required 50-75 years , so at the end of it no one who was alive when Allende was enabling a communist revolution would be left. If the situation requires the same medicine here I can only pray that the appropriate practitioners will arise to force the purgative through the political system and put people and processes in place that will keep the left crushed for decades.

The Left might make this move in the future, but the only such thing going on in the present is the Convention of States movement, a non-Left (and perfectly Constitutional) effort to get a Convention to consider new amendments, but which could craft a completely new document.
I support a Convention of States. I recognize how it could go wrong, but nothing else has penetrated the armor of the entrenched powers that currently be. A Convention or a new Constitution might well have as little effect, but who knows?
