That is one way to stop the virus, shut down every time you find someone with it. On the other hand, how do you ever really open up? They still can’t let anybody fly into their country, and I think if people leave, they can’t come back without quarantining 14 days somewhere else first. If they are even allowed to fly out, maybe not, what airline is flying empty planes in to pick them up?

The advantage of being an island with someone self-sufficiency is that you can lock down the borders. The downside is, you can NEVER open up, because nobody in your country is immune. And when you get that 60% vaccine, meaning 40% are still susceptible, you still can’t open up, because those 40% could get it, and spread it.

Actually, it’s 100% that are still susceptible, since vaccination does not prevent infection but would merely render vaccinated individuals as dreaded “asymptomatic carriers”.
